Jefferson collectors - did anyone send feedback on the proposed weightings?

Jefferson proposed weighting were posted last week. In my opinion there are numerous inconsistencies in the proofs and circulation strikes weightings. I sent feedback to PCGS last week. I’m hoping the more comments that are received the more likely the weightings will change.

I e-mailed BJ with the message thread, but we could use more support. Registry members would be wise to support the likes of Carl, Frank and BNE ...

Frank - I got your excel spreadsheet on your weightings. Spent quite a bit of time on it with my thoughts, and will send back to you for thoughts, in next couple of days. Ever get any response from PCGS as to their timetable?

Some refer to overgraded slabs as Coffins. I like to think of them as Happy Coins.

Yes, I sent in my opinions...I got a response saying the person in charge of reviewing comments wasn't available to review my comments...lol! At least I tried.

  • I sent a message to David Hall and BJ yesterday (I was out of town earlier). I suggested they do exactly what Frank suggests. I repeated the point that the reverse ofs should be in the "with varieties" set. David Hall wrote back and said they will definately take Frank's suggestions into consideration and will check those varieties.

The more supporting email sent to them the better.

Any message that was sent to dhall@collectors.com was received and is being reviewed. All feedback is being taken very seriously because we know that you know your stuff! We'll be posting some changes next week.

Monsta.... who did you mail your feedback to??? I did send a few replies out while David Hall was on vacation that he would review feedback when he returned.

  • Carl or BJ......When the new weights and set compositions take effect do we have to re-enter the coins in the new/old catagory?

    Thanks for the help........

If you want your set duplicated into a variety set, just let me know. Otherwise, your set will be up as a basic. No data entry required.

  • Thanks again BJ......I am apolitical on the weights but quite excited about the new sets. 1938 to Date Proofs and Cirs; with and w/o varieties!!! Wow. I don't want to get ahead and it has been discussed before, how about a complete circ./proof set. Call it the "Master" set......with and w/o varieties.

Thanks again.....NICKEL TRIUMPH....Having way to much fun with these Jeffersons......Should of been a Merc guy......
