I do not know this card well enough to know if the red circle to the left of his head is normal for the card. If it is I say 8.5. If it is not I would say 6.

Sgc 2 because they can. Also back bottom boarder where the stain is looks like a bend? Surface damage in the fron bottom boarder center but slight to the left looks like a cowboy spur shape? Tear maybe front bottom right corner on the edge?

Good call on the bend at the bottom. Looks like the same lines on the front.

I've seen that before as well as "shading" in the right field. Not sure how much this knocks the grade down. It has the looks of a solid 8 other wise.

Thanks for all of your input and opinions. The card is graded EX 5 by SGC and I think the only logical explanation why is due to the shaded round circle in the red background. The card is virtually perfectly centered, has full borders, razor sharp corners without even a trace of wear and perfect registration and focus of Mel Ott. The back is gorgeous as well. There are absolutely no bends or paper wrinkles whatsoever. The card cost me $1,000.00 in a recent Heritage auction and in my opinion is the best buy I have made in 20+ years of collecting. Less the small shaded circle (which I can easily get past) this card is a MINT 9 1933 Goudey baseball card which is unheard of. It's amazing to me to think that without that small shaded circle, this card would likely command 50K+. Another prime example of the cliché, "Buy the card, not the holder". Happy New Year everyone!

Thanks again for all the feedback. :)
