I collect these as a bit of a side hobby.
Let's see your earliest ANACS certificates!

I think I have seen a similar one from 1976.

This is my oldest.
Looks like the Type 1 goes all the way back to 1972 from this website on ANACS holders:

I'm sure glad some one hung onto this stuff
I love these threads, thanks for sharing
My guess is, type 1 certs are more rare than NGC black slabs.
Yep.
I purchased this Morgan a few months back.
I do like how ANACS would split the grade.
Very interesting. Thanks to all for sharing some nice early certifications. Peace Roy

Many Thanks for the link, Now I have to research mine.
BHNC #203
Not as old as those ANA certs, but the lowest numeric value I've seen on a slab. Guessing after ANACs switched from the alpha/numeric slabs to just numbers, they started from # 1?
I'd have to dig mine out, but you all win, my three certs are circa 1982-83.
Cool
Thanks. The split grades were my idea.
How nice would it be to have photo certs attached to the slab again? I suppose modern holders could include a small QR code.

It's a shame the TPGs did away with the split grades. I guess when they were trying to turn coins into investments/commodities in the 1980's they thought a single grade would be better for the market.
