Cooper Kupp....Unstoppable

HydrantHydrant Posts: 7,773 ✭✭✭✭✭

Cooper Kupp is on track to be the first 2,000 yard receiver in NFL history. He is simply amazing. He lit the place up last night. Like always. His running skills after the catch is wonderful to see. The Rams fans are in love with him. Never seen anything like it. Chants of MVP...MVP! Last night the Hydrants had a guest fly in from Spokane to attend the game.....turns out his family and the Kupp family are friends..... just a little added thrill to top off a fun night at the game.

If he breaks Calvin Johnson's NFL record for receiving yards in a season that will be twice now that Matt Stafford has been the QB throwing to the record breaker. Kupp will need to finish with 1965 yards to break the record.

And Stafford fastest QB to 50,000 passing yards in NFL history

I hope it’s not game #17 that he breaks it.

He is a STUD and I’m not taking anything away from him but breaking the record with an extra game takes a little away from the accomplishment in my opinion

I kinda feel the same way.

What's crazy about Kupp is that EVERYONE knows he's Stafford's 1st - and 2nd and often 3rd - choice on any given play and he still gets open. He makes great catches in heavily contested areas all the time but how often is he just wide open 5 yards from any defender? Amazing.

You forgot to include his playoff games.

Matthew Stafford has been a high-volume passer his entire career, putting up huge yardage numbers almost every season he’s been in the NFL. He’s continued to impress with the Rams this year, throwing for 3,898 yards in his first 13 games in Los Angeles.

He padded his numbers even more with a strong start against the Seahawks on Tuesday night and eclipsed 50,000 yards in the process. Incredibly, he became the fastest player in NFL history to reach 50,000 yards, doing so in only 182 games.

This is one game faster then Bree's

Cooper Kupp does two things right --- he is always where he's supposed to be and he almost always can create "SPACE" anywhere on the field. in short, Stafford looks to where Kupp should be --- he's there --- and there seems to be a "hole" surrounding him.

You're right keets, but another thing that is interesting is that the other team should be able to see his long gainer TD catches coming....but they don't or even if they do they can't stop him. In the last two home games I have told The Hydrants that the TD to Kupp is on this play and even figured out the routes that he would take on 2 touchdowns! And....because of the offensive formation it's obvious before the snap that Stafford is going to Kupp. ALL THE TIME! Hey,.....If I can see it, and predict it happening on the exact play.......why can't the brains upstairs figure it out?......Maybe he's just that good!

I've seen enough football to know at least this........All it would take to DESTROY the Rams season would be one dirty hit on Kupp while he is standing defensless calling for a fair catch on a punt.......Don't put it past people...... 49ers ??????????

  • DarinDarin Posts: 7,067 ✭✭✭✭✭

Tyreek Hill when he first started out was KC's kickoff and punt returner. As he got more accomplished
as a receiver they gradually phased him out of returning kicks.
Of course now the Chiefs have no one near as good as Tyreek returning kicks.
But I'm with you guys I think Kupp is way too valuable as a receiver to have him as the kick returner.

110%. Every time I see him back there to receive a punt I say a prayer, hold my breath and then I yell at the TV. 1) I live in LA 2) he is on my fantasy team

Most of the stats are based on regular season accomplishments and that is the baseline for stats. I mean depending on what your looking for they keep track of everything.

Like When Brady become the all time passing yards leader it was based on regular season and did not include playoffs.

    Yep.

Lane was a beast, I still get pissed every time his name gets mentioned because his rookie card is on a ‘57 Topps card when he came into the league in ‘52! My favorite Bowman sets never made a card of him!

They didn’t throw nearly as much back in the 50’s so Lane still having that record is crazy

Since Brees had a lot more post season games then Stafford on his way to to 50,000 yard career mark , Stafford will get to 50,000 yards in the regular season several games before Brees did.
