Why is this Jefferson only a minor DDR? 1962-P

I sent some in some time ago and I am always amazed that it is a minor DDR it’s better then some that are listed why is this?

Not sure exactly what you are asking. Your nickel looks to be a doubled die reverse.

In all seriousness, though, it is a subjective distinction. It's a "major" doubled die if it is in high demand. It is perhaps more difficult for a single 1962 5c DDR variety to stand out and generate higher demand when there are so many different varieties for that year with a similar degree of doubling:

Undoubtedly, there are some collectors putting together a complete set of these, but likely not enough to create a large demand for them.

Calling it a 'minor' DD seems to be a misnomer since a loupe is not needed.

Because major doubling is rare to non existent, in the Jefferson series.
