it is sort of disheartening that the NFL chose to "follow" instead of lead with these changes, making them only after postponements by the NHL, NBA and mounting COVID positive test results throughout the League itself. it is also sort of ridiculous that there are reports of Las Vegas fans being upset over it, that they were hoping for a FORFEIT by the Cleveland Browns. if true, I can only say that doesn't sound very good, but you may get your wish after all come Monday.
Cleveland now has about 14 players out of the 22 listed starters that are some sort of COVID restriction according to the latest local news I have seen, and that number seems to be constantly changing. by the time Monday rolls around half the Team may be out and either an indefinite postponement or forfeit may be the end result.
on the humorous side of things, a friend told me he saw a FaceBook post telling fans to wear their Browns Jersey to the game, that they might be needed to play!! I can almost hear John Fogerty in the background singing "Put me in Coach, I'm ready to play, Today.................."
different sport but same idea.
Keets, from what I have heard....the Browns (and Rams) are "Ground Zero" for the controversy. Stay tuned.
Any service offering bets on forfeits?
Rumor.....just rumor.....is that the Rams have been hit hard. Just a rumor......We shall see.
The Rams have 25 players on the list, while the Seahawks have two: their leading receiver, Tyler Lockett, and leading rusher, Alex Collins.

this isn't just a problem with the NFL Browns, whatever is happening with COVID is bad enough in Ohio for Gov. Mike DeWine to mobilize the National Guard. I'm getting close to once again locking down myself, my GF just got her booster today and I'm scheduled for mine in early January.
looks like the NFL wants the RAms and Browns to win !! I am not surprised, last year the NFL made the Broncos play without a QB...... but now they give the Lams and Browns extra days ...... WOW
That is one way to look at it. I hadn't thought about it that way. Interesting.
Before the season started the NFL and the NFLPA issued a statement. No games will be moved or postponed due to Covid. Absolutely no exceptions!
So when Aaron Rodgers, the league MVP tested positive. Tough sh&t. The game goes on. Ahem, an unvaccinated Aaron Rodgers, unvaccinated, a leper In today’s society.
The league said NO Exceptions!
So now when they reneged on their bold statement what is the acceptable count?
5 players? 10 players? 20 players?
How about 1 Tom Brady? 1 Mac Jones?
A LT and a QB? A WR, CB and a water boy.
You know who got screwed? Green Bay against Kansas City. I could GAF about Green Bay but weren’t they at a disadvantage too?
Follow the NFL script. Make sure you tune in for next weeks soap opera.
"I spent 50% of my money on alcohol, women, and gambling. The other half I wasted.
......
I might be wrong, but I think the NFL is using semantics to justify this. Didn't that forfeit language mention that no games would be postponed due to unvaccinated players? If enough vaccinated are "positive" the NFL is saying that is an exception to their prior statement.
Don't know if it is true. Actually I doubt it. I heard on a sports report only one Browns player was unvaccinated. Most players even had a booster.

comparing the situation that the Rams and Browns are in to Green Bay having one player out is laughable. both Teams face the prospect of not having enough players to even play the games.
look at your own Team. could the Bills play and compete without Josh Allen?? yes, and the loss wouldn't really be that noticeable. what about the Bills playing without 22 players randomly selected from their roster, 15-20 of them starters?? it is unrealistic to play under those conditions and probably not safe for the remaining players. it would be better to issue a forfeit.

The Rams,Browns, and Washington are seen as the big obstacle to the dream Super Bowl matchup of 1) Bucs/Patriots or 2) Cowboys/Patriots. NFL covid protocol is being selectively enforced to ensure the outcome either #1 or #2. .......Hey, I was at a Christmas Party last night. I was just a fly on the wall. Listening to "shop talk." I asked one question.... Will the season be cancelled?.......answer....NO!........and.....Baker Mayfield is NOT popular with the NFL Big Boys right now.......he's a little too outspoken. Honest? It was a fun party.........MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Bottom line......IF the Rams or Browns get to the playoffs......They will have to STOMP their opponents to get the win. There will be no mercy shown......the Zebras are a herd, they take their orders......and obey. Like a herd.
.......
In what way are these three teams the big obstacle?
The Rams have beat the Bucs in their last 2 regular season match ups. The Cowboys are inconsistent. All season. Washington is the big unknown that could (unlikely but possibly) derail the Cowboys. And.....the Browns are the wild card......Mayfield could get hot....why take a chance.....whatever, the talk is that the Rams, Browns, and Washington had "surprise" covid testing. There are people who are not happy about it. I just listened to people who are closer to it than me and I'm telling you what I heard......who knows?
Oh, I forgot.....the reason, so I heard last night, that the
Ram/Seahawks game was changed from Sunday to Tuesday
was because the Rams were upset about the "surprise" covid testing. So....as a trade -off the league gave the Rams two extra days to prepare for the game.....By the way......those inside guys wear really nice shoes. I polished my brown boots with black polish for the party. It was a bad polish job. I took a lot of hits on that. But......my fringe leather coat with Indian bead work was a hit with the babes.....so.....screw their shiny pointy shoes. Fun party... pretty girls...... open bar, Ahh....win, win, win! MERRY CHRISTMAS! 💃 🍻 🎅🤶!!!!!!!!!
Whatever theory is out there I cannot believe for one second that Goodell would help in any way to get Brady another ring.
>
That's why we love you Perky. You're an innocent babe. Lost in the woods. CLUELESS! You need help. But......rest assured, Tom will not get the flu. Sleep tight! 😵
I can honestly say not a single person has ever remotely referenced me in this way!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I mean I understand they want a Brady vs Belichick Super Bowl but Goodell is not a Brady guy by any stretch
Solution? Stop testing and you will have no positives. Moneys too big to keep playing around.
Here’s the next script. New England loses tonight and Buffalo wins Sunday.
Huge rematch for the AFC East title next Sunday. Big ratings for a 1 o’clock game.
Of course New England wins. Still gotta have the highest rated Super Bowl in history, Tom Brady vs Bill Belichick.
Sell those jerseys Roger, you’re doing a bang up job.
If you gamble and have any one but the Colts tonight you’re not following the script.

I don't know how all the happy talk about a Patriots vs. Bucs SB got started, but it's a little silly to think that right now. this much is true, though, the Patriots are playing very good but whether that is sustainable for 6-7 more games is the question. as for the Bucs, they haven't been playing very good and were fortunate to win last week.
The script is being followed perfectly. You believe me now? 14-0
"I spent 50% of my money on alcohol, women, and gambling. The other half I wasted.
Yup and it’s 14-0. My time foil hat works

Meanwhile in the Hate State of Connecticut… no NFL for me
I’m watching … The Jimmy Kimmel LA Bowl, inaugural edition
(I had to complain somewhere)
17-zip.
What's that mean?....Do tell....
I hate CT
High taxes, cold weather, it seems the market is too small(?) for some NFL games, and it is normal in CT for every gov contract to charge CT prices which are 2x-3x what other State Govs are paying. (and prices for the public can also be a rip-off)
Somewhere in here is a lot of fleece for the cold and of the populace.
NHL season on hold.
Terry Bradshaw was AMAZING!!
