Lots of things stop bullets....bibles, swords and coins. Just has to be the "right place at the right time".
I used to practice my quick draw with my .22 LR revolver on Kennedy Halves. I hit many of them but the bullet never went through that I recall as I spent them later.

Quick draw, hitting a Kennedy half that has been spun into the air? Impressive!

No, not tossed into the air. Set on the ground with a dirt bank behind. LOL

Posted and then removed a joke much too dark for even my tastes...

    Here's a better one:
Q: Why did the three wise men smell like smoke?

    .
A: Because they came from 'afar'

How about Capt George Dixon's $20 that was found with his body in the CSS Hunley:

I have that coin in my possession - disregard the word "COPY" :D

The Hunley museum store in N. Charleston is currently offering this same replica coin with a purchase from their store. Forgot what the minimum purchase is.

My Sister and Brother in Law live outside of Charleston and when they went to the museum years ago they bought a couple for me. I can't find the other one. https://hunleystore.mybigcommerce.com/lt-dixons-gold-coin-replica/

Some years ago I was a member of the N-SSA, a national group that live fired civil war era weapons in competitions. On our 8 man team events, we would frequently wire hang a coin below our 50 yard target frames. When the event finished, Ioaded
weapons would be cleared by firing the round into the backstop. Our group, which was very competitive, aimed at that coin 50 yards away. Here’s what happened when my .58 caliber minie ball hit a quarter!

Should have used a civil war era quarter... 🙂
