1989 Pro Set Santa Claus

How was this released? I thought I remembered opening them out of packs. But then I read that they were only released as promos to dealers? Can anyone clarify how they were distributed? Thanks.

I remember that they were supposed to come in packs, but I never saw one.

Checking here, but are you speaking of the Christmas Card variety from 1989? regards goye

If I recall correctly the 1989 was give to dealers as some sort of promo. Starting in 1990 they were inserted into series 2 football packs.

Your Trophy Holograms look great. The one I owned looked like a greasy smudge on some tin foil.

I never had the 89, but had multiples of the 90. I remember wanting that Lombardi hologram so bad.

There was a list by Beckett. Of The top 100 football cards of all-time. The Santa card was #56.

I've had my eye for many years on that 1998 Upper Deck Kris Kringle Holiday Worn Jersey card as well that Beckett one with the special slab. Whenever I actually get around to getting these though is anyone's guess...

The top guy looks like an overweight balding Roger Clemens. Bottom kid looks like a young Marv Albert.
