a sporting goods store?

All of my threads are failing miserably today, the mexican Cristiano Collinsworth thread was a huge bust!
Not since I got fired for making fun of a customer’s accent.

I knew that was coming! 😂😂
Oh wow, just absolute wow.
I used to go to Gander Mountain for ammo then the first ammo shortage hit starting in 2008 and they had nothing I needed. That was the last time I've been in a sporting goods store as I discovered ammo on the internet and have never been back.

I have been to the Academy Sports that sits on the southern border of Fort Worth, Tx plenty of times over the last couple of years. What do you want to discuss @doubledragon ?
Edited to add: I could go there later or tomorrow and take funny pictures in the store and add them to this thread at your request. I'm open for ideas.....
......
For the record that specifically stood out to me as one of your finer, subtler contributions.
I don't know what to discuss about sporting good stores, this is one of those threafs that just materialized out of nowhere, on a whim, completely unexpected. In fact, I don't even remember starting this thread.
Me and my wife went to our local Dick's a few months ago. She was looking for some simple workout shorts. We couldn't find anything that appealed to her, and she is definitely NOT picky so that should tell you something about the selection at that particular store. I found many things in there way over priced as well. This franchise may go the way Sports Authority stores did in this area,,,into extinction. Sports Authority was the same way to me, not the greatest selection of products and way way overpriced.
All kidding aside, many years ago I did work at an Olympia Sports for awhile. The employee discount was great for buying sneakers but one pair turned out to be the biggest pairs of shiat that I've ever covered my feet with. The gel soles eventually popped and leaked a couple months after the warranty was up basically making these unusable.
Its been close to 30 years and I'm still pissed over those crap sneakers, can you tell lol?

I'm thinking......
Converse, there's a blast from the past, I haven't heard that name in years, I forgot they even existed. I remember the Chuck Taylor's back in the day.
That Brady video is wicked awesome. I haven't been to a sporting goods store since they stopped selling sporting goods.

You'll have to excuse me, I've been fighting with my phone charger all day long, I can't get this stupid charger to work, I haven't been above 50% all day. I buy them from my convenience store up the street, and they're cheap and they give out in about 3 weeks, I'm going to have to go get another one tomorrow.
I'm down to 41%, I can't deal with this!
i will never darken the door of a dicks sporting goods. their view of the second amendment does not align with mine.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
100% agreed. I stopped buying from them for this exact same reason
Agreed. That's what I meant by "stopped selling sporting goods." Dick's is the perfect name for that place.
@thisistheshow I was a huge LJ/Stacy Augmon UNLV fan back then when they got drafted into the NBA,that might have been one of my greatest rookie card hunts ever even though each player only had a handful of rookies available. I was a Hornets fan too back then, well maybe not so much on this day when Alonzo Mourning knocked the Celtics from the playoffs with this game winner.

@erikthredd I remember those days well. I was in HS. My NBA watching and fandom was peaking. But unfortunately my team was not. Was that the first year without Bird at all? I also found myself a casual fan of that Hornets team, certain moments such as the above excluded. Think I even had a hat. I might have blocked out that memory. lol.
Edited to add: I gave you a like, but I didn't like that loss.
I think Bird was gone by then, it was like 92/93ish. IIRC that team had Sherman Douglas,Kevin Gamble & Xavier Mcdaniels along with Parish & Mchale.
