It was almost malice at the palace when Lebron James elbowed Isaiah Stewart in the eye during the Lakers vs Pistons game, check it out.

Look at Stewart's eye.
That was a sleazy shot from Lebron and he should be penalized for it. There's no reason why he should be swinging his arms up at head level on a made free throw especially when he wasn’t even the inside rebounder boxing Stewart out, that was DeAndre Jordan.
We’ll see how the NBA handles this, considering who this involves Lebron will probably just get fined. Just imagine if the roles were reversed and that was Lebron with blood dripping down half of his face, Stewart would be looking at least a five game suspension.

It looked to me, that after the initial scrum, Mr. James wanted nothing to do with Stewart.
I think he saw the look in his eyes and knew he would not be able to handle him.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
privilege will win out
Here’s another angle looking down at the swing from above at the .06 second mark, you can clearly see him swing his arm with some anger behind it.

you see, we all view things differently. in the video posted, Stewart is pushing Lebron away from the basket to such an extent that Lebron loses his balance and is actually on one foot which naturally brings his left arm up above his head. to make matters worse, Stewart was bent over towards Lebron with his head lowered. what strikes me as odd is that Stewart spent almost two minutes trying to get to Lebron.
I didn't think the elbow was intentional but can see how Stewart was PO'd. way too much action in the paint and under the boards in the NBA, I can't understand how this doesn't happen more often.
--- looking at another camera angle it appears that Lebron swung his arm and caught Stewart on the left side of his face, but the bleeding came from the right eye. the whole time, it looks like Stewart has a hand-full of jersey under the armpit, so he sort of asked for it.
I was on Shore Patrol in the Navy back around 1977 in Malaga, Spain and headed back to the Ship with my partner after our four hour stint of corralling drunken sailors and keeping the peace!! we were crammed into a Liberty Launch with about 150 Shipmates when a fight broke out. since we were in dress white I guess we were an easy target. I got clocked above my left eye right where Stewart was hit, thin skin against hard bone and I bled like a stuck pig. I still have a scar and a memory.
Isaiah Stewart was actually a competitive boxer in his high school days, so he probably knows how to handle himself pretty well in a fight, he wanted a piece of Lebron, and I don't blame him, Lebron hit him in the face viciously when you watch it in full speed.
LBJ better be glad that took place on a basketball court and not in a dark alley
I suspect he would have been in a heap of trouble
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
Probably just a misunderstanding. Like the misunderstanding that happened last night in the Steelers/Chargers game when Cameron Heyward "appeared" to punch Justin Herbert in the gut as he was flat on his back. To quote Heyward, "Just a misunderstanding.". ....or like the girl high school basketball player who sucker punched the opposing player a week or so ago. Heck, it was probably only an " apparent " sucker punch that left the other the girl with a concussion. That was probably just a misunderstanding too. Sounds about right.......
Al, go watch the video I just posted and at the .06-07 seconds mark you can see how fast Lebron whips his arm around and connects with his face. Lebron may be on one foot when he swings but his body was completely upright and it wasn’t as if he was stumbling or falling, the guy wasn’t as unbalanced as you try to make it seem.
I don’t think Lebron was deliberating aiming for his eye but just seeing the speed at which he swung his arm back he was definitely aiming to make contact. (Edit) NBA players get away with minor cheap shots all the time and Lebron may have been aiming for minor cheap shot but that’s not what he ended up with.

Here’s another angle and that is not a basketball move or boxout like we see from Jordan.
When he connects he’s practically facing Stewart and not the basket.

What body part do you think "he was definitely aiming to make contact" with?........which reminds me of a story from a few years back; ......There was a man who kept a giant python as a house pet. One day the big snake wrapped itself around the man's friend and killed the guy. The owner of the snake was puzzled by it all. He couldn't figure out what the Python was thinking. I thought it was obvious.... the snake wasn't thinking anything. I don't think snakes think. They just do what snakes do.
I doubt it was his eye but only Lebron knows what he was aiming at.

Some people are just not nice. I learned that a long, long time ago when I was a kid. On the playground. Everyone knows that. Right?......It's actually even possible that some big time athletes just aren't nice people. On the "BIG BOY" playground. I learned that a long, long time ago too.......a Bully is a Bully.......why pretend otherwise?
Or......ask yourself this question...... If someone sucker punched you in your eye would you be thinking, "Gosh!, I know my eye is all bloody,... but what was that S.O.B. REALLY aiming at?"........ after all....he is a SUPERSTAR! .......I don't think so.........
Lebron James after the free throw....
As the still shot at the top of the thread clearly shows, he was also bleeding from his mouth.
Lebron hit him twice - once with a forearm/elbow to the eye area then again with a back fist to pretty much his entire face. And he was looking at him when he hit Stewart the second time. This was 100% intentional without a doubt.
Your explanation is getting way too detailed going on with all of your little anecdotes, you’re making it sound like I’m some how defending Lebron here when that is so far from the truth. Yes,I absolutely think he was taking a cheap shot to try to get a rise out of Stewart but I doubt it was his intention to aim for his eye but thats where it ended up regardless.
We'll see if being a SUPERSTAR plays into a lesser punishment soon enough, i'm sure it will.

I tried watching it a few times but it’s so fast, it’s tough for me to form an opinion honestly. Any hit to the corner of the eye and your going to bleed, lots of times it’s like a bloody nose and looks worse than it is but I’d be surprised if he don’t need stitches.
It’s really tough to tell if it was intended to smash him in the face or a reaction to the push
perhaps the next time Stewart is lined up like that for a foul shot he'll think twice about how he tries to "box out" the player next to him.
one thing to remember, this was in the 3rd quarter of the game and probably not the first time these two had played against each other. based only on a couple five-second-not-good angles of film, I wouldn't rush to condemn or exonerate either player. I don't know anything about Stewart but have no reason to believe he's "dirty" by any stretch. I've watched Lebron play in many games and would say the same about him.
I just wonder why everyone hates Lebron James so much, it doesn't make sense.
Stewart should have just pulled a "Lebron" and rolled around the floor holding his eye like he just lost it forever.

Sometimes "little anecdotes" are accurate and valid. With all due respect I said nothing nor do I imply anything you defend or don't defend......I will say this......professional athletes aren't special just because....... But....a lot of them do think they are SPECIAL.....it was drilled into their little baby heads from an early age by athlete worshiping adults........been there done that. Seen it all.
Lebron suspended just one game while Stewart gets two.

Clearly Stewart was using his eye to try to break James hand...................
"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
When are they scheduled to play again?
Superstar hits journeyman player. Journeyman player hits the floor. Double technical for fighting.

for me it is his attitude. every single time he commits a foul, he is complaining that it wasn't him, even though as a star he is shielded from many fouls he commits by the refs. on the other end, every time he drives he practically cries if they don't call a foul. It comes across as infantile and is very tiring. and then there is the flopping...
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
can you imagine if stewart would have gotten ahold of him. he was seeing red.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Sunday.
I wish he did.
Further in to the second video, the one posted by @erikthredd , there is a much better look at what happened from a different angle.
A couple different points.....
In the NBA, there is a long history of guys effectively swinging their elbows to keep guys away from them. A lot of times it will be the taller, lankier players. They will have really long arms, boney elbows, and they will use that move to level the playing field. Or some great rebounders, Rodman comes to mind, will come down with the ball and do so with a violent back and forth motion.
But that is not what happened here. It is best seen in the second video from the other angle. The following analysis is spot on in my opinion.
LeBron also has a long history of flopping, and over exaggerating injuries as they happen. Despite his other-worldly physical presence, he is a soft player. And soft players do things like this.
In the first video, at some point you can hear a fan yell out something like "Come on AD, you ain't doin nothin!" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
.....
Edited to add: as always, I like to take these moments to say that Larry is the GOAT. And to those who don't agree, at the very least please admit that he was better than LeBron.
Here comes the apology attempt through the media to try to save some face. If this actually happened then, cool, but having Shams reporting it just makes it seem so artificial IMO.

And both teams play multiple games before then so all suspensions should be over with by gametime lol. I'm gonna have to tune in.

"inadvertent hit" - Dude, I'm so sorry I punched you while I was punching you. I mean, I realize I was looking right at you when I hit you but I totally didn't mean for my hand to go right where I was looking and aiming. I'm totally really sorry.
Kudos to this Reddit user for compiling a list of some of Lebron's dirtiest plays to go along with the Stewart hit:

How many dirty plays does Lebron need to be considered a dirty player?
Fairly simple question. He’s starting to stack them up now, it’s not just the one from last night on Stewart.

Another thing, how many nutshots did Draymond have to be “the ball kicker”? Was it more than 3? Not sure, anyways here’s Bron doing a few of em.

guy is a chump.
