Is This Coin Backlighting Too Weird?

I recently got in a group of blowhole cent error coins and tried something new to emphasize the blowhole which is a planchet error.
I lit the coins the normal way with the exception of elevating the coins and shining an LED flashlight against the white background underneath the holder. The LED flashlight light puts out extremely blue light.
When I first saw the images, I wasn't quite sure what too think. They have grown on me. Not sure if I should reshoot the coins or desaturate the blue or leave them as is. I do kinda like the blue. What say you?

The blue looks fine

I would leave them as is. They look like they were taken against a blue background. They really accent the holes in the coins.
I did desaturate the blue on one but do not like the results ....
Pic of no background illumination?
No, I only shot this group with and LED backlight.
Here is one from a few months ago that I photographed the old way ...
I prefer the traditional shot
You get the same damage assessment but with a good view of the rest of the coin
I like it, but then blue is my favorite color.
it looks a little weird. BUT with what you are selling, weird is kinda your milieu.
i like the stark contrast better. how about black background?
the older style does show the damage better. i think the combination is the way to go. ensure the damage is bright but the backdrop is darker?
The first pics accentuate the holes in the coins. I like that look.
Pretty good pics - But, can you say "Blowhole" once more?

"When they can't find anything wrong with you, they create it!"
I sort of like it. It should actually make it very easy to create a mask to cut out the coin and place it on the background of your choice. I've thought of doing this with non-round coins to make post-processing faster, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

All of the pictures look nice 👍🏻

I like your "old way" shots. Shows much more detail, especially in the area of the error...
Can I ask about your current setup? Camera, lighting, etc...
