Possible counterfeit 1901-S Barber Quarter

Here is an interesting one discussed with some friends at the Barber Coin Collectors Society; certified VG08 1901-S quarter.
Subject images as follows:
This one started with a discussion of the 3 types of reverses for the series and my 1st step in any subject review- ATTRIBUTION!
Image is my comparison of the 3 and the description from a friend from the BCCS:
So, the reverse type should be a key to authentication of the key date 1901-S.
I also note the difference in appearance of the mm "S" between the subject example on the left and a know genuine one on the right along with the identification of the reverses, in this case type 2 on the left, type 3 on the right.
Continuing with attribution, there are 2 known die pairings for all documented 1901-S Barber quarters, image as follows:
Not only does the reverse of the subject coin not match, but the obverse does not match either known obverse die either!
Closest match seems to the 1901-P obverse:
Thoughts are it may be a "put together" coin- would love to see edge images.
And in reviewing hundreds of internet images in many coin venues we have not found another one...
Thoughts appreciated!

that is rather compelling information. the wing tips extending past the E & R are solid attribution points. the style of mm is a solid point as well.
has anyone found more 01-s out there with a type ii rev? most likely it would be a considerably circ example like the one posted above. knowing human nature, i would be hard-pressed to believe someone that would take the time to make one, would only make one.
thankfully the study of designs and the mints choosing design changes in some instances like this, works out quite well in our favor.
