High quality raw cards going up?

Anyone else noticing, or am I seeing things, but do sharp cornered 80’s and 90’s raw cards seem to be going up?

Regular $5-10 HOF RC with good pics seem to be drifting up - maybe it’s just an inflation thing - even with the correction it seems that a $5-10 sharp 87 donruss maddux will prob always be $5-10 and maybe $10+

Maybe something to do with grading cost increases etc

Thoughts on the 80-90’s HOF RC (and early inserts) being decent inflation hedges? Not going up 100% like crazy times but holding the raw values for quality copies?

as long as people are diligent with the ruler, I have never had a problem with raw cards

A few things to look out for with raw cards:

    • pencil mark erasure
    • pin holes
    • pressed out creases
    • tracing marks around a player image
    • wrinkles on the back

Consider shifting your focus from raw to the PSA 8s w/ great eye appeal that could be 9s on a good day. They're out there in abundance. Many will cost you less than the grading fee. In short order you'll have an outstanding collection for very little investment. Just work on buying in bulk to reduce bleeding cash on the edges (shipping, website fees, etc).
