We have to have a Thanksgiving thread, a place to discuss what we're doing for the holiday, so here we go!

The wife has to have a Butterball turkey every Thanksgiving, it has to be a Butterball, she's very picky.
I am very excited for Thanksgiving. we have the turkey in the freezer (23 lbs)
I love all the food and being lazy all day and the football. especially now that there are 3 games!!!
oh yeah, and i love the stuffing.
Man do I love stuffing.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
We're going to pick up the meal supplies tomorrow, I'm looking forward to it!
And of course Thanksgiving and football go hand in hand, it's the perfect combination. I'll bet you guys remember this one, look at Tom Brady digging in to that turkey!
My all time favorite Holiday without a doubt.
I already told my girlfriend we are NOT leaving the house to go to her sisters, her sisters husband is the type that always wants people to go there after dinner and we have the past couple years but I put my foot down firmly this year and told her I refused to go.
Everyone is coming to our house this year 🙌
Look at Vince demolish that Turkey leg!!!
Vince sure could eat Turkey!
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
He tearing into it! 😂😂
I remember when John Madden used to call games with Pat Summerall on Thanksgiving and Madden would talk about his famous turducken, it's part turkey, part duck, and part chicken, and it had like five or six legs on it.
Pat Summerall and John Madden, the good old days.
And she has to have a Marie Callendars dutch apple pie, and she puts vanilla ice cream on top of it!
It look something like this, where does she come up with this stuff!
I’m strictly a Whipped Cream guy
We are the Chocalate Satin Pie fans. We have every big occasion. Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Monday, Tuesday ....
Up to the Utah ranch. Kids coming down from Idaho and up from SoCal. 22 Hydrants...... Plus one in the cooker! The Razor off road machines for the boys......off to The North Rim of the Grand Canyon! Gossip and cooking for the girls. Me?.....kick back and enjoy playing watching the little ones play......walking in the red rocks....holding hands with my little Jenny and Peyton!
That sounds like a good idea!
I would like to take this time to wish stevek a happy Thanksgiving, I know he'll be digging into that organic turkey wherever he is!
And that organic cranberry sauce, don't over do it Steve, leave some room for a cut of organic pie!
Jelly cranberry sauce is a no no. It MUST have some cranberry pieces in it.
BTW I refuse to put cranberry sauce in my leftover turkey sandwich.
Whipped Cream in a can is THE BEST.......I like to shoot into the Little Hydrants mouths until it comes out of their nose!!! They love itl!!.....Their Mommies don't...... I don't care......always keep a can or two on hand!.......just for FUN! 👶👃🍥🤦
......
As I told everyone last year, we eat an organic turkey. Already bought. They're the best. 😎 And ...when I was younger I actually liked those sandwiches with the cranberry sauce. I know just what you're talking about. 🤣🤣
every Thanksgiving morning i wake up early and gallop like a horse for 5 miles
then, i'm perfectly content with the rest of the day going completely to hell
i consume what i want, as much as i want
i go back for (at least) seconds. sometimes thirds. then it's the same scenario every year -- an hour or so later i'm sprawled out on the ground like i've been shot in the groin with everyone in my family asking if i'm ok, then invariably i hear my mom say "who's ready for pie?" and i immediately turn into a prizefighter who has no idea where he is trying to beat the 10 count
you'll never be able to outrun a bad diet
My favorite Thanksgiving story.....kind of sad......kind of funny......here goes........my grandpa raised a turkey every year for Thanksgiving. My cousin, about 9 years old, took a liking one year to the future family holiday dinner. Named the bird Tom. He loved Tom. Tom was
his pet. Fed him, talked to him, they were buddies. Well......Then the big day rolled around... THANKSGIVING! The family gathered around the table. Enjoying the feast. Then, the older cousin brother asked his little brother, Tom's friend...... "Do you know what you're
eatin'?.......its TOM!!!!". Oh, boy.....that wrecked dinner. .........FAMILY MEMORIES! 🍗😱
A little Thanksgiving humor for you cats, by the way, this thread will run all the way to Thanksgiving!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Anybody here ever been to Ozona, Texas? Aside from the pretty Texas ladies there that make the most delicious CHICKEN FRIED STEAK on the Planet.......they have turkeys running up and down the streets. Day and night. Lots of them!! ALL YEAR LONG! Thanksgiving is a snap in Ozona!.......Holiday dinner grazing on the front yard! Just waiting for the chopping block!!! Smart people to figure that one out.
Also, they have the Davey Crockett statue and monument! REMEMBER THE ALAMO! Don't Mess With Texas!......especially the girls there........THEY ROCK!!!!!!!!
You have to be careful with street turkey's, they're armed to the teeth, and they'll fight back!
Oh, Baby.......just walked into the kitchen. The Lovely Mrs. Hydrant is preparing guess what for dinner?????......CHICKEN FRIED STEAK!.... She always said the trick is to POUND, POUND, POUND, the MEAT!!!! .... Best part?......Me sitting at the bar from behind and watching her POUND THE MEAT! 💃 I love it! .......TEXAS GIRLS ROCK!!!!
Turkeys are mean. They deserve their fate.
🦃👎.....GOBBLE... GOBBLE......🍽
Gonna be a good week here. Couple day visit to Asheville, gonna see if pops wants to go to the casino for a day trip before T-day, turkey day with the fam, then my bro got us UGA/Tech tix for the game on Sat. Nice busy vaca week.
I've baked Marie's dutch apple pie before, I like to cut up the apples into smaller pieces before baking
so they get nice and soft, then the delicious crumb topping. YUM! I
DoubleD thanks, I am definitely buying one for Thanksgiving now due to your reminding me of them
and the fact that the Reese's Thanksgiving pie was limited to 3,000 pies and they have already sold out.
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
That Reese’s pie looks like it is almost too much, I’d take a sliver of it but regardless a Coconut Cream pie is another variant to consider outside of traditional apple or pumpkin options
perk, yes the Reese's pie is a bit too much. I guess they made 3,000 of them and they sold them
for $45 and they were gone quickly. I actually would not have bought one of them even if not sold out.
O.K., DD....you are so funny.......where do you get this crap!?!?!?
YOU'RE KILLING ME!!!😵😂
The most SICKENING part of Thanksgiving?......watching the girls stick the stuffing into that cavity! DONT LOOK! 😲
Good news, I was at Cherokee last Monday...no more masks required.
I'm going to Perk's house.
You gonna come quietly friend ?
Open invitation for you and the Mrs!!
Those Reese's pies are insane, it's like one really big Reese's cup, I'm starting to get the craving for one, please don't tell me they only made 3,000 copies.
Oh no, I just checked and they did only make 3,000 Reese's pies, why would they do this to me, don't they want my money?
They still make those oversized ones you can find at gas station stores though, you should try to find one of those, that will help Double D!!
I'm going to walmart here shortly, there has to be one in there somewhere, there just has to be!
Yes good call, trusty Walmart usually can be counted on.
You will know it once you see it, they are like a small piece of sheet rock!!
@doubledragon btw I didn’t mean to type “You should relax” lol, The Stupid spell check takes over and has a mind of its own 😠
I can't relax any way, I'm on edge over this pie!
Oh nice. We'll probably hit Murphy but should be the same then.
Bad news!!

Haven't been to Murphy, but I expect so. I'm told Murphy is smaller than Cherokee...might go there next time and enjoy the drive.
You might appreciate (or CRINGE) over what I witnessed last Monday. I'm at a $25 bj table, and ask the 2 players if they mind if I join mid-shoe. Guy at first says wait, lady in the middle says jump in. I decide to be respectful and wait at 3rd base. The lady in the middle is betting 2 hands of $50 each, plus the option bet at $5 each. I watch and become amazed at how inept she is at play, missing double downs, splits, etc. BUT, incredibly, she's winning, even while seeming to struggle with easy decisions.
Now the creepy part...at least every other hand she tips the dealer a $5 chip, and KISSES IT before tossing it over. KISSES IT!!! I can't imagine the unthinkable filth on those chips. I watched for about 10 minutes and decide I can't play there and find an open spot elsewhere. I saw the dealer color up a couple of blacks, and was able to glance over from time to time to watch this "player" waste away her win as the dealer got to purple in tips. Unbelievable! Probably a top 5 of all the stuff I've seen in casinos over the many years I've played.
Man, all this food talk is getting me really excited for Turkey day!! I saw someone mention they didnt like watching the girls stuff the bird. if that is the case, just have them make some and not stuff it in. that is what my old lady does. she even calls them different things: stuffing and dressing. I like both. the stuffing is always more moist the dressing more fluffy.
I cant decide. but i do know i am hungry
