Advice please: I have 3 of these SP coins in their original packaging. Are the oversized slabs meant for these? Having never held or observed these large slabs: can you observe the lettering on the edge of these coins if encapsulated? Should I encapsulate them?
TIA

The big boys can slab these cheaper than an individual
They only carry a premium as SP70 with First Strike
The edge lettering cannot be seen
If someone doesn’t know what they are looking at without the edge lettering, you don’t want to sell to them
I can answer the "oversized slabs" question. Hopefully someone else will post a response to your other questions.
PCGS has a holder for the ATB 5.0 oz. Silver Quarters (i.e., Classic 5 OZ Holder).
Thanks for the info. I'm only interested in preservation to hand down to my sons.
MsMorrisine: what do you mean by "The big boys can slab these cheaper than an individual" I was under the impression only TPG's slab coins.

I mean the big boy coin dealers. They get dealer bulk pricing
The SP coins come in capsules already. No need to slab them to preserve them unless you expect unexpected capsule openings
Ah didn't realize the capsules were as good as slabs. You've saved me some moolah. Thanx
I just took them out for a closer look and man are these things lookers. Hesitant to touch the capsule. I also found an ASE puck. Are holders available to display these things, like on a desk, or should I plan on a wood working project in the spring?

The slabs don’t open like capsules but slabs are 100% airtight either
You might investigate the mint’s 3” medal holder, but the coin will be exposed

The 3 inch medals from the USM come with a small plastic stand, that could probably be found elsewhere, that is great for displaying them. Keep them in the capsule and display them on the stand.
For a plastic coin sized holder:

I just located a few acrylic easel stands out there for coins. I've just got to find the right size. Thanks for the tips guys.

The mint didn't produce these so it would be a private issue. Might still be a good looking chunk of silver, of course.
I'd stay with the OGP capsule unless they need better protction due to being dropped and the capsule broke.

It’s very unlikely common 5oz atb will have any collector value to warrant additional investment in protection.
