Sorry to leave everyone hanging longer than expected, but glad it led to some additional discussion and a few more guesses into the tally. Here's the distribution of guesses. In instances where people guessed two (or more) grades, I took the lower. '66' was the clear frontrunner. 79% of guesses were between 65 and 66+.
Here are slab shots of the coin, which is in a 65 holder. A few astute members did a good job of picking out the flaws that aren't necessarily apparent at first glance, including the 'X' on the neck (two hits that happened to overlap each other) and the shallow scratch on the eagle.
Now that the grade is revealed, any predictions about whether it would CAC?
Very cool thread. I have a CAC’d 1934 Peace in MS65 and IMO I like yours more. It’s a tough year to get CAC’d though. I believe only like 13% are CAC’d in that grade.
I have a CAC'd 1934 Peace dollar that is NGC65. It has a nice gold toning on both sides and may go to 66 now. JA LOVES toning, so anything more brilliant is at a disadvantage.

I don't agree that blast white gem Peace Dollars are at a disadvantage. Blast white is the norm. Gold toning is also not uncommon, and I don't think it would be colored bumped up for it.

After seeing a close up of the reverse I think MS65 is a generous grade.
I guess we had all better take a closer look especially when 67 is equal to $100,000.
No room for error‘s here, that’s almost 3 months salary They sure as hell better get it right!

I was smitten with your 66+ guess (heck, even the 66s), since I only paid for the eye appeal of a 65.

First glance at that coin is amazing, okay I learned a lot here I had no idea the size of poker chips we were playing with.
Absolutely the scrutiny is amplified here as compared to my zincolns.
Regardless that coin is gorgeous and I still like it better than the 67 with the big black head in coinFacts.
But what the hell do I know :-)

I’ll scan it tomorrow. The color doesn’t bump it - it is clean and frosty.
I’ll stand by my 64+. I don’t think it would CAC at 65, but you aren’t risking anything to throw it in with a larger submission, so might as well. The price spread between 65 and 66 is big.

Based on the new images, I don't think it should sticker. Of course, CAC is much more forgiving than I am of light scratches.

I care little about the marks. That's still a decent and correctly graded coin in my book.

I like it as a 67 despite the x scratch on the neck. The rest of the obverse is flawless as near as I can tell from the pics. The reverse scratches may not even be noticeable in hand without significant magnification. I have a few MS66+ CAC and it looks better than my 66+.

Admittedly, I didn't see those. If I had I would not have called it a gem.

I have a similar 34. It is one of my favorite coins!

Beautiful!
I have a bunch of 58’s and one 62 ;-)
None of my 1934’s come close to this beauty!
