I can't understand this one, I know it shouldn't be a popularity contest,
But Salvy's stats are a lot better than this unknown player.
Salvy first in caught stealing percentage at 44%, no one else is close and Murphy isn't top five.
Looks like Perez is ahead in all pertinent stats so can anyone explain this one, I'm perplexed enough
that I would even read a dallasactuary post on the subject.
BTW- it was a popularity contest at AL shortstop as Nicky Lopez, an unknown should have won
and wasn't even a finalist. But of course Carlos Correa wins.

I agree with you on Perez, although I do know what the "experts" are going to say they ding Perez on, and that's pitch framing. Whatever.
I can remember a lot of games early in the season where Merrifield cost the Royals with his glove. I was actually surprised that he made the top 3.
Lopez was a finalist last year at second base, moves to short this year, and has an even better season defensively. He was talked about on the MLB network all year as the favorite for the gold glove, and then doesn't even place top 3. A disappointment, for sure.
Nice to see Benintedi continue the left field tradition after the retirement of 2020 platinum glove winner Alex Gordon.
I'm most shocked that Michael A. Taylor was actually able take home the gold glove over the all world Mike Trout. How?🤷 😒
count- Agree with you on Nicky, having a year like he did and not even a finalist was very disappointing.
I know he was very highly ranked on runs saved and other modern metrics.
I'm wondering what will happen next year, Lopez at short, Mondesi at third, but then what about the
minor league player of the year, Bobby Witt, jr? He better be on the Royals roster next season.
Of course if Mondesi is injured for almost the entire year again its a moot point, put Witt at third.
I don't know how Michael A. took the gold glove over Trout. You would have thought that for the Trout worshippers'
playing 1/5th of the season would have been good enough for Mikey to take home the Gold.
Good question.
I don't like the name Sean.
I don't like it either.
