Never under-estimate the power of NFL Officials to influence a game's outcome.

Watching Browns vs. Bengals toward the end of the first half. Clowney lays Joe Burrow out, a legal hit, and the entire Bengals offensive line rushes the Browns' sideline and engage players. Naturally, the penalty goes against Cleveland for some reason. When will the Officials either start calling the instigator or calling both sides when they're involved. This play probably helped Cincy score the Field Goal.

It's a problem. Bad pass interference calls, offense and defense, are the worst. And common.
the type of play I bring up has been happening for decades and it's always the reaction that is penalized. with review /booth review they SEE what is taking place, when will the Officials start to call them right?? PI is different, but they tried to work on that after the debacle in New Orleans and quickly gave up.
JMHO, the NFL League Office doesn't want to relinquish at least a little bit of control in the outcome of games.
How about New York calling and inserting a sacking the QB penalty against Cleveland. I mean roughing the QB. Anymore, what's the difference. BTW I still think some officials or family members have accounts at FanDuel or Draft Kings.

that "Phantom Call from New York" was sort of puzzling. it from my perspective wasn't a penalty and nobody on either Team reacted to the play, not even a look in from the HC. then, suddenly, as the Bengals are about to start the play we see a flag.
that was a strangely officiated game.
The refs and the call from New York. You should have been to the game I attended today. That was basically the whole game. The refs and the New York fixers. The worst officiating of any game I've ever been to. It was a joke.
