I saw it, it was ok
It definitely is not what I was expecting as far as Tony goes, I did enjoy the bit of a surprise ending. I'm not allowed to discuss this film any further, @thisistheshow may not have seen it yet and I don't want to spoil it.
This thread is now closed, everyone go away!
😂😂😂
Does anyone here watch Yellowstone? Several folks where I work rave about this series. Just wondering if it's worth my time?
I haven’t even heard of it. Netflix?
I don't believe so, but I could be wrong. Where I am it's on Peacock. It's in season 4 now.
From what I've just read Yellowstone was originally a Paramount Network production but now Peacock has it's rights.
I've heard of Yellowstone but have not seen any of it yet, it sounds like a very good show, here is the description:
Oscar and Emmy winner Kevin Costner is the marquee attraction of the ensemble cast in this drama series, starring as the patriarch of a powerful, complicated family of ranchers. A sixth-generation homesteader and devoted father, John Dutton controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States. He operates in a corrupt world where politicians are compromised by influential oil and lumber corporations and land grabs make developers billions. Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect, Dutton's property is in constant conflict with those it borders -- an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America's first national park.
I wish @thisistheshow would let me talk about this movie, but he won't, he hasn't seen it yet, so I'm not allowed to discuss this film any further.
Peacock is awesome, I’m watching “Alfred Hitchcock Presents” on there now
I remember when the family TV station "Pax TV" started showing reruns of The Sopranos, it just wasn't the same because Pax is a family channel and edited out all the bad language and stuff.

I was just reading through this thread. I had missed it. I was cautiously going through it, because I had forgotten about this movie. Being a huge Sopranos fan, I am going to watch it. So you have my permission to talk away. I won't revisit this thread until I watch it, which should be asap.
It's ok, I don't think anyone is too interested in it anyway, this thread has failed, I have let everyone down, I'll go back to my cave and cry now. Have a nice day.
Well to be fair post 4 you scared everyone away so I think people are afraid to re enter the thread lol
You do have a point, I am quite intimidating, perhaps I'll change my avatar to uncle Junior Soprano. 🤔
😂😂😂😂
I have actually never watched an episode of the Supranos.
I guess I am missing out.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
I’ve never watched an entire episode myself. Just a few bits and pieces on occasion
I've seen every episode of the Sopranos, the main character Tony Soprano is a despicable guy, and James Gandolfini once said that it was hard to play Tony Soprano and he often felt like he wanted to take a shower after playing him because it was hard to portray such an evil character all the time.
After watching the entrance to the Sopranos with the theme song "Got Yourself a Gun" I was hooked on the show.

Alright, @doubledragon I watched the movie this morning. Let's talk about it.
I've watched every episode. But it's been awhile. Love the show.
You're just saying that to make me feel better, you couldn't have watched the movie already!
I've seen every episode of the Sopranos, too, but it's been years. It was great for it's time, but I believe The Wire, Breaking Bad, and the Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul are all 3 superior shows to The Sopranos. Make no mistake, Sopranos is top 10, but just a bit dated now. I may have to binge watch again just to confirm, though. Dang it, DD, I don't have that kind of time! Look what you're making me do!...
You must watch it again, every episode. You knew this day would come.
@doubledragon
Yeah, maybe. 86 episodes is a big time commitment, though.
Did you see that David Chase just recently admitted that Tony does indeed meet his end in the Don't Stop Believing/fade to black final scene? It was an ambiguous ending when it originally aired, and many fans were upset that they were left guessing and forced to draw their own conclusions.
Yes, I read David Chase said that Tony was killed, personally I wanted to actually see Tony get killed, I didn't like the ending. I suspect David Chase changed up on this, I think in reality he made the ending that way because he wanted to leave it open just in case he wanted to pick up the story again someday, but when James Gandolfini passed away unexpectedly he realized that wasn't going to be possible, so now he's saying that Tony was killed. Of course that's just a theory.
....
I really did. Right after I posted this morning I watched it. I am a big Sopranos fan, but I had forgotten about this movie coming out. Meaning the date. So I watched it. It looks like they will make another one with Tony a bit older. I enjoyed it as a fan, but there were a lot of things I didn't like. And I am disappointed in some of the plot points. I feel as though there was a lot of pandering to a modern audience.
I thought it was a decent movie, I was a bit surprised that Tony didn't have much if a criminal life in the movie, he was more or less a normal teenager in the background watching Dickie Moltisanti do his thing, but like you said maybe they will make another movie showing Tony actually evolving into a gangster life. I was pretty surprised at the ending though, I didn't see it coming, Uncle Junior being the one to have Dickie Moltisanti killed because Dickie laughed at him when he fell on the church steps!
So this thread is back open I’m assuming? 😂😂😂
Yes, but only temporarily. 🤔
I would have to go back and watch the series again, I think, to get more out of the movie. Or atleast review some of the relationships between the characters. But like I said, to much pandering to a modern audience. Unrealistic interactions between the "family" and outside civilians. Things that it is obvious would never fly, would never be allowed, are allowed.
I thought it was kind of weird that in the movie, when Tony tries to interact with the baby Christopher Moltisanti, the baby starts crying, as if he could sense that Tony would one day kill him. That was a bit over the top in my opinion.
I would love to discuss this film some more, but you'll have to excuse me for a while, I'm watching Maury DNA results and I have to know if this dude is the father or not.
