Vintage SGC to PSA Cross

The crooked insert by SGC is ill fitting on the 4.5, not to mention under graded. I contacted SGC and they offered for me to send it back but I think I should just eat that loss and go to PSA.

I'm going to work with the owner of the SGC 5 to send them in both together. Since I'm paying the grading fees, there's nothing lost and we feel the better copy is less likely to get under graded.

I'm just looking for advise if I should crack one or both out before sending them in. Since these are the only two graded copies known to exist, I'm hesitant to do anything to them. Thanks for any advise.

  • Absolutely crack it. You want zero bias on grade as they can take it into consideration.

I am not sure about cracking. Respectfully I do not follow your logic in sending in the poorly centered example with yours. That could possibly help if sending back to SGC but PSA would not care.

Either way I think your card is nice and I hope you end up with a PSA 5.

Thanks. I'd be very happy with a PSA 5. The only reason I wanted to send both is to truly see which one is the better copy. What I didn't mention is that I owned the 5 and sold it to by the 4.5 when it was raw. I thought I found the new "best" condition copy in the world. That turned out to be a terrible idea and a $2000 loss. Live and learn. LOL

I think you are being harsh. I would prefer your 4.5
