A moment that I'll never forget is when Mike Tyson ate Holyfield's ear. I remember watching that fight and just saying, what the heck just happened, did he bite him?

Loved watching the NFL QB Challenge growing up. Miss those...but watching my Rockets win back to back was the greatest memory of mine.

Even though we only got the one World Series win in 1995, it was still a heck of a run in the 90s for this rotation and manager.

I was also glad to see Elway get a ring, and I'll never forget when he took matters into his own hands in the Super Bowl.

Even though we lost them all the 90’s Bills were a fun team to watch.

Yes, they were, and made it to four straight Super Bowl's, they were a dynasty in their own right, I miss watching those guys.

I lived in Texas and that was before the NFL package. I could only see them in prime time. Would’ve loved to see every game like I can today

1994 San Diego Chargers, 1998 Padres, and Nolan Ryan pitching for the Rangers; especially his 7th no hitter, which I was at, sitting first row next to the Ranger bullpen.

I'd be interested in hearing some anecdotes from that no hitter. Particularly because you were so close to the armbarn

First off, I've been a huge Nolan Ryan fan my whole life. Growing up in San Diego, I watched and listened to Angels games on TV (I think it was KTLA channel 5 back then), and radio. Other than Padres, Nolan and Steve Carlton were the only pitchers I liked and followed.

I was stationed at Randolph AFB outside San Antonio TX in 1991. One day I was reading the local newspaper, and the lead sports columnist had a line in his column one day, about a week or two before the game, mentioning that Nolan would be scheduled to pitch on May 1st against the Blue Jays. I got leave approved for that week by my boss, and bought tickets for the games on Apr 30th and May 1st. Then, I drove the 270 miles up to Arlington, TX. Remember, this was old Arlington Stadium, before they built the Ballpark at Arlington.

I went to the game on Apr 30, which the Rangers won 8-5, and then got a room at a military base outside Fort Worth for the night. Interesting note: before the game, I got my game program signed by the team's owner, George W. Bush, who was on the field, and signed autographs for the fans who asked.

The biggest thing I remember is sitting there while Nolan was warming up before the game. I was about half-way between Nolan and the catcher. The ball was whizzing past me, and it couldn't have been more than 5-6 feet in front of me. Several times, I caught myself snapping my head backward when he'd throw a curve. I could really feel the speed and movement of the pitches, and the sound of the ball hitting the catcher's mitt was LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Then during the game, I think it was about the 3rd inning that I, and the fans around me, began to take notice of the lack of Blue Jay hits, and the fact that Nolan was just mowing 'em down. He had struck out Devon White leading off the game, then struck out the side in the 2nd, and had 2 more K's in the 3rd. 2 more K's in the 4th inning, followed by one in the 5th, and 2 more in the 6th. At that point the stadium was starting to buzz. If I remember correctly, the fans stood up in the 7th inning, and stayed standing the rest of the game. With 2 more K's in the 7th inning, the place really started to get loud. 2 more K's in the 8th inning, and it erupted as people knew it was about to come down to the 9th. I dont' even remember seeing Robby Alomar strike out to end the game, as my head was going crazy, and the noise was just deafening. No one left for several minutes, as they just didn't want to go.

Finally, I decided to leave the stadium, and walk out to where the Ranger players came out. As the players came out, many of them signed autographs for the fans. It wasn't until it seems like a couple hours or more, that Nolan came out. As Nolan and Ruth drove out through the gate, the fans went crazy again. Nolan acknowledged and waved back to all of us; but they didn't stop (I mean that would've been an insane scene).

Summary of the Blue Jays at-bats:
    16 strikeouts
    3 grounders to 2nd base
    2 popups to 3rd base
    1 popup to shortstop
    1 popup to 2nd base
    1 fly ball to LF
    2 fly balls to CF
    1 fly ball to RF
    2 walks

Nothing was even remotely close to a hit, except for maybe the fly to right, which Ruben Sierra had to run a bit for, but caught easily toward the RF line in the 8th inning.

I used to love watching Bo run for the Raiders and Nolan throw as an old man.

there was something about watching a 45 year old man throw mid 90s smoke

I always liked Dan Marino even though he played for the Fins. I remember his first game back from the torn Achilles was in Muddy Miami in 1994. He and Drew Bledsoe had a classic duel. there were questions as to whether Marino would be able to come back from the surgery. It was a great shootout with Marino throwing 5 TDs and Bledsoe 4.

I was a huge Andre Agassi fan back in the day. He came to prominence while I was in high school and was playing tennis. Watched every second I could of him and Michael Chang. Had the Andre undershorts and, eventually, the original Andre Agassi shoes (neon orange and teal) and then the original Michael Chang Reebok Pump shoes. Both were GREAT shoes, FWIW.

Andre winning Wimbledon was a big shock. He'd gagged in previous majors and grass was, by far, his worst surface. And he'd skip it because of the all-white apparel rule. But it still all came together in 1992 somehow anyway.

And that's Wendi Stuart with Andre and the trophy in the one pic.
