My last 2 eBay buyers offered to pay me MORE MONEY than I asked for..
True stories...
Last night, an auction ended for a gold medal. The winner was in the Czech Republic. I contacted him about the difficulty in shipping "gold coins" through the mail. He offered to pay me $1000 more ($2600 medal) if it would help pay for the shipping!
A couple of hours later, a potential buyer contacts me about a $1600 medal and asks if I had any room. I sent him an offer at $1500. He emailed me back and asked if I could raise my offer to $1510 so he could avoid the sales tax because his state has a greater than $1500 exemption!
I love eBay...

$1501
That's what I charged him. I don't know why he went to $1510. Maybe he was compensating me for the trouble.
What kind of secure international service does DHL have
It's California.
I price coins near 1500 at $1525 so my clients can save on sales tax.
Actually, turns out it's New York which is odd because the bullion cutoff is $1000 but there is no numismatic ceiling. eBay didn't charge him sales tax, however.
DHL IS AWFUL. Don't make me tell you my experience with DHL. They don't even care to look. No matter how many times I contact them and who I talk to, all they will tell me is "contact the seller for a refund". I finally yelled at one of them, "I AM THE SELLER! ARE YOU TELLING ME YOU WON'T EVEN LOOK FOR THE PACKAGE IN YOUR POSSESSION?"
NY coin tax laws are convoluted
I'm in NY State. They are mostly pretty simple. We tax everything. LOL. There's a $1000 bullion exemption but it only applies to bullion.
CT has the 1000$ exemption for bullion as well as numismatic coins
The first buyers sounded shady and may perhaps be some sort of scam?

Ohio just repealed the tax they put on silver, gold, platinum and palladium bullion & coins…..I made a purchase from a dealer that was going to charge me tax and when I asked them about it they asked for a reference link. Sent them the link and the next day I was credited back the tax!

LMAO
The cashier went to hand me my change, but I'm pretty sure she was actually reaching for my wallet.
