Yes, if done correctly.
The plastic would need to be scuffed to give the paint something to hold on to. You would want to use an ultra-fine paper like 2000 grit or there is a good chance you would see sanding scratches through the paint. There are adhesion promoters that you clean/wipe it with and there are also primers made just for plastic parts. Exterior use only, do not try to paint the inside of the box.
Edited to add: Hydro dipping them would look real cool!
