I wondered why Urban Meyer was apologizing so much......

Wondered why Meyer was apologizing so much for being at his own/restaurant with his "Grandkids"..........well now we know.

Since we're already on the subject, reports are out there that Urban Meyer has lost his team in the locker room over this scandal.

    ProFootballTalk

Report: Urban Meyer has a “crisis” in the locker room.

The man who writes the checks in Jacksonville isn’t happy with Jaguars coach Urban Meyer. The men who do the on-field heavy lifting apparently aren’t, either.

Mike Silver, who shifted earlier this year from NFL Network to the Washington Football Team, has posted an intriguing thread on Twitter regarding the Meyer situation.

“The Urban Meyer situation in Jacksonville has reached a crisis point, especially in the locker room,” Silver writes. “One player told me, ‘He has zero credibility in that stadium. He had very little to begin with.'”

Silver adds that players were “particularly put off” by the cancellation of a Monday team meeting. “He was too scared,” an unnamed player told Silver.

Meyer reportedly “apologized to position groups individually,” and he claimed that the woman in the videos that surfaced was “just there dancing.” Silver says the audience was “highly skeptical.”

“We looked at him like, WTF?” an unnamed player told Silver. “Right when he left everyone started dying laughing. And he knew it.”

‘It’s bad,” the unnamed player told Silver. “I don’t know how he’s gonna function.”

This supports our theory that owner Shad Khan opted for a strong statement over a pink slip, because a resignation could be coming, if/when Meyer realizes that it will be impossible for him to lead, to teach, to inspire.

  • Steven59Steven59 Posts: 8,618 ✭✭✭✭✭

Yep - I think he has no option but to resign. I don't even see him being able to run back to the NCAA...........time will tell.

  • If anyone can help him in this situation..... It's.... " Jeffery Toobin from CNN"

He doesn't have much hope to downplay this - when you lose the teams support you don't stand a chance in the NFL - look what happened to Hue Jackson when players lose respect for you.......Same goes for Freddie Kitchens

I also think he will resign, he's become a disgrace and a laughing stock, his players have lost faith in him, and he's a dirty old man.

That kind of looks to me to be two different women in that video. The one dancing with him has a tank top on and the one from the photo with Urban has an entirely different shirt on.

And that comment from the Snapchat video LOL...Honey I can explain. :D

The girl in the selfie with Meyer was the one who took the snapchat video of him getting touchy feely with the halter top girl. Right, 2 different women,

Never liked the guy, like him a lot less now. Unfortunately, Trevor Lawrence and his teammates have to associate with this guy.

Earth to Meyer...everybody has cell phones, cell phones take pics and videos. You were in a public place!!

    Dirt bag comes to mind.

Well hopefully not for long. I can't seem to see him squirming his way out of this one. That's actually downright sexual assault and wait till Gloria Allred gets ahold of this girl and tells her how much she can make from a lawsuit against him!

I can foresee him resigning. And if so, it will not be the first time he leaves a team.

@doubledragon This should be the proof you need to never abandon your team. You almost jumped ship from cat to jaguar.

I’m going to be honest, if I was Urban, my statement would be absolutely clear…

“It’s none of your business what I do with my personal life”

And I mean I’d say that to everyone, the only person that deserves an explanation is his wife. That’s it. Period.

The real point is he should have flew back with the team or at least told the team to stay in Ohio for the day also - the fooling around just added fuel to the fire.......

I would agree with your position if Meyer were not such a public figure. Most Jacksonians, and those Jaguar fans expect the coach of "their team" to be above reproach. In Meyer's case his hubris appears to have taken over his hypothalamus and he appears to have a "who cares" attitude, flaunting his social life thinking he can actually get away with anything.

Shahid Kahn, owner of the Jaguars, who has an enormous vested interest in his team's coach, certainly had a wood shed, come to Jesus moment with Meyer. As the team owner, when the coach brings such an embarrassing event into the mix, surely he is indeed entitled to have a chat with Meyer and explain what happened, and in fact demand that he never do it again, or anything remotely seedy in the future. Apparently Meyer has kissed the ring and promised his antics would never be on display again. Surely there's a clause somewhere in Meyer's contract that forbids such nonsense and future events could lead to termination. Meyer may well be on his way out anyway after the Titans make him an 0-5 coach.

Meyer surely owes the football team members and their associates an apology and an assurance that antics like we've seen on video were an aberration. After all, he is supposed to be their leader...I think he has caused severe damage to his credibility, surely embarrassed his wife and 3 children.

Time will tell, but I think Meyer is on his way out. Many more than just his wife need to be apologized to, many more!!

Ofcourse I understand the dynamics of his situation, your not wrong Al. I think how i should have worded it was at this stage is it worth it to be owned by your employer? He has financial security and championship rings so at this point if the guy wants to go have a cocktail and flirt with 20 year old hotties then he should just go do that and spare himself the embarrassment of fake apologies to everyone. He should just move on from coaching and enjoy whatever lifestyle he chooses, I mean I can’t imagine the stress of trying to put together a successful NFL team with no real NFL experience and the time commitment, and watching every step you take outside your home.

yeah because that's what Kahn wants -- the face of the franchise wearing apparel that promotes a previous employer and not his. I dont care where the guy is, he's a joke in every sense of the word. if the 4 and the 0 were switched, I can promise you he would have had different garb on. of course he wasnt going to wear a Jags pullover -- he didnt want to get laughed out of his own bar before he could act a fool for the entire world to see

He'll have to change his first name to Oscar. I doubt when the Mrs M gets done with him he could afford the Weinermobile. Let's not insult hot dogs.

I expect the ever vigilant DD to keep us posted and fly under the radar of the board eliminator.

No doubt he'll hear lots of boos at the game Sunday in Jax.
