The Fenway Faithful well remember Bucky Dent in 1978 and Aaron Boone in 2003. A trifecta of a one game showdown loss would be hard to endure in Boston. The Yankees are a slight favorite to win the game.

GO SOX!!!!
Go Sox!
I hate the Yankees, and rooting for the Sox, but Kinda still gun shy from 2017 when the Indians had them down 2-0 and the Yanks came back for 3 straight wins to advance to the ALCS

Which yankee team will show up?
The 7-3 or the 3-7?
I’d feel safer with the Sox
Looks like the Yanks are the 3-7 team tonight. Cole not impressive and gone already. I like it! But it ain't over...............blah blah blah....
Very good - Sox win!!!!

I voted for the Sox. Seemed like they were in good shape being up 4 after 9.

can i entice you w 100 to 1 odds should you want to take the yankees?
I once lost a bet on a play in a football game. Then I lost again on the replay. I couldn't believe they could do it again.

I was surprised to see Cole bomb like he did. great win for boston. I went to bed after the 7th, I dont believe they used Sale which is good for the rotation.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Well,Bloom and Cora have made it to the playoffs so do they have enough to get through the first round? I am sure going to be watching every game and will be behind them all the way but I don't know if the pitchers they have will be enough to carry them through. The Rays sure have a strong team but they can be beaten in a short series.
Go Sox!
A rather poor performance to say the least by the Red Sox last night. Pitching was anemic, and I lost track of double plays, maybe 3 or 4. Total lack of getting a key hit when opportunity presented itself, and Goofy is still rocking the cradle when he gets on base, telling me he really isn't focused. Rock the cradle when you get back to California, which, it appears it may be sooner than you think.
The Rays OTOH were brilliant, base running was stellar, even a home run off the ring by Cruz. Oh, did I forget to mention one Arozarena owned the Red Sox. Stealing home was spectacular...this because Devers was way off the bag, and not keeping him remotely close and the pitcher was dozing. It was refreshing to see him bantering with the fans in right field, too many players think that's beneath them. Again, credit to Arozarena and the Rays, who played exceptionally well.
Oh yeah, Bloom had zip to do with the Red Sox making the playoffs. He had opportunity to improve the team during the trading time frame and was asleep at the switch. Bloom spent several years in the Rays organization.
Now everyone is hanging their hat on Sale. Well, for $40 million per, he should blow them out, but, if the bats stay idle, things won't improve. Time will tell, if he doesn't keep the Rays in check, (and I really hope he performs well), you can crank up Dandy Don.
Sale did not come through but Tanner Houck and the bats sure did.
Kiki Hernandez with 5 hits and now they are off to Fenway on Sunday.
There will be a huge and noisy crowd awaiting them there.
Keep it up Sox!
