Got a DCAM Indian Cent and Buffalo Nickel... Sort of! Hello, New Cufflinks!
Among the coins I'd love to have, but with their prevalence and cost and rather unlikely to acquire any time soon, are a DCAM Indian cent and buffalo nickel. Luckily, I found a way to scratch that itch. A little while ago I was searching eBay for some non-coin cufflinks when I came across an pair of enameled Indian cent cufflinks. I liked them, but they both showed the obverse and I wanted one of each side. I dug around a bit and found someone on Etsy who makes them to order, and found a buffalo nickel as an option, as well (for good measure, I also got NJ quarters--my home state and one of my favorite designs). They were handmade in Spain and arrived yesterday, joining the buffalo nickel and mercury dime cufflinks I custom ordered many years ago (had to tell the maker to find the dirtiest coins he had--absolutely no polishing) and the Athena owl ones I recently found (no, those ones are not genuine coins... that would be a travesty and really expensive!). So now my cufflink collection has a healthy number of coin options, the second most prevalent category. I'll give you $0 if you can guess what category is #1.
