This is why I enjoy the NFL so much, two teams fighting their guts out to win, neither team wanting to lose, a fight to the very end.

Like I said I wanted to see the Jags win so Lawrence could gets his first W but I’m happy for Cincy fans, they are off to a good start

Who could forget the great games Lawrence and Burrows played in college? Great competitors, it just went the Bengals way. I really enjoyed the game.

Not a Meyer fan, I think he is literally out of his league, now at 0-4 will not sit well with Jag fans. He may be toast before too long. I think better he had stayed at OSU and strut around like some big deal with a meaningless title.

that's quite a harsh criticism when you consider Meyer took over the worst Team in the NFL with a huge talent deficit when compared to other NFL Teams. I think the absolute worst thing Jacksonville could do is to fire Meyer before he's had 2-3 years to effect a change. Trevor Lawrence isn't the answer although he may be the beginning of an answer, but it takes time. certainly four games is not enough to judge the reversal of years of ineptitude.

the trouble with the Jaguars isn't their offense, it's the defense.

back to the Bengals......................I hope nobody is filled with heady dreams about how good the Team is. they have played the Vikings, Bears and Jaguars in games decided by three points, not much of statement against mediocre Teams. the true concern should be for the Pittsburgh Steelers who lost at HOME to the Bengals by two TD's. that's rather embarrassing. even worse, the Steelers looked old, slow and by games end, dejected.

looking ahead at the Cincy schedule tells me that they have arrived at the half-way point in their season win total and should finish at 6-11, barring any real surprises.

Really? Perhaps some history is warranted.

    ............
Meyer has had a lot of success, but scandal follows him. All reports say that he has tried to use his college coaching tactics in the NFL and they have been met with criticism and lack of success.

I'm aware of Urban Meyer's history. though he's a little younger than me we grew up about 35 miles apart and I've followed his career. what does his NCAA past have to do with the Jacksonville jaguars being a terrible Team?? to the NCAA scandal(s), I won't try to defend him but I will say that some of the NCAA rules are so stringent and ridiculous that I'm surprised more Coaches/Administrators/Schools aren't snagged for violations, but then I figure many, many of those simply pay-off.

the NCAA itself is a scandalous operation, but that doesn't really have anything to do with the topic at hand, your disdain for Urban Meyer or the fact that the Jacksonville Jaguars are a terrible Team. Meyer has his share of critics who are eager for him to fail, so be it. I'm not one of them.

You can cheer for whomever you wish...in this case one Urban Meyer. Perhaps your relative closeness of growing up 35 miles apart makes you feel some compassion or connection to this person.

Meyer IMO is not an NFL coach, his attitude and tactics will not bring out the best of those on his team. I don't particularly think the Jags are a bad team, they were up 14-0 and I thought played a pretty exciting game. Burrow brought the opponents back, to make it 21-21, then the field goal. However, the season ticket holders and the powers to be won't tolerate too many more losses. We're not talking Rose Bowl stuff here, this is a very serious, money driven business.

I hope the Jags improve, but Meyer's guidance won't bring out the best in them. These are professional, seasoned NFL players, not mere rookies just out of High School. Meyer has too much baggage, and his past history has everything to do with the way he interacts with people and players.

If my posts upset you, just don't read them.

Signing with a team that lost the last 15 games isn’t exactly the way to measure anyone. If he lasts, I think you have it give him 3 years. The Jaguars just don’t know how to win yet. Happens to a lot of bad teams.

Typical response by someone who is incapable of defending his position and having a viable dialog. That you have to insult me shows that you are a classless individual and have done nothing here but embarrass yourself. Please do put me on the ignore list.
