26 years ago, Cal Ripken...

26 years ago this month, Baltimore Orioles great Cal Ripken broke Lou Gehrig's consecutive-games-played record on September 6, 1995, playing in his 2,131st consecutive game. This is what the Baltimore Sun thought of all of this.

    I still remember exactly where i was when it happened.

    his lap around the stadium was magical

    George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

    Magical moment for sure, especially when Cal started walking around and the fans congratulated him and showed him appreciation for breaking the record. I also remember him hitting a home run in that game, that was pretty special.
