This is my first Argentina 2 1/2D American Gold Counter

And just wanted to share with everyone my excitement. I forgot to add this came out of Benjamin Fauver’s collection.
This ARG-1Argentina 2 1/2D brass counter is the first I have ever seen. I have scoured auctions, dealers and just about everywhere I can think of..... Thought by TAMS to be most certainly made in Germany and I would tend to agree with this but back then this was rated a rarity 7. Unless most if not all have gone into hiding or tossed away I would say this is much more rarer than that. Maybe at one time it was but much less survived. If anyone has one or seen one please let me know or post it here.

I do own 2 graded Copper $10D but, have not seen a $5D either, so that search continues

I love it!
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
Very nice!
Regarding the $10 piece how do you tell if it is a restrike?
Thanks, I talk about this in this thread I created
.
I since then have purchased a few of the $10D''s they used to call "fakes" in the TAMS article. I've also been speaking to a few token dealers. I'm thinking the brass ones are using the same dies but, they do have a die crack on the obverse.
I matched them all up and they look original to me. Know the question is who and when.........this I don't know, may never find out. But maybe the best way I can describe them is they are "shiny" but those might be okay too as they are the original dies but look gilt or plated. I have a few pictures of the ones I bought but haven't posted it yet. When I do I'll let you know.

I picked this up at the March 2017 Baltimore show. Not as nice as the OP, but it cost me all of $10. It needs a touch of acetone to remove some crud from a PVC flip. It's quite lustrous in hand. (Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics.)
Have you seen this lot?

Have you seen many of these in your travels through the coin shows ?
Second………damn! I’ve been looking for those too. I can’t believe I missed them

No, not at all. They are probably as rare as the catalogs say they are.
Can you please post the catalog page with the Mexican tokens? I don’t believe I have that catalog and I’ve got a few of the Mexicans.
