  • thank you both for the links to resources. That helps alot!

  • thanks old hoopster. Based on suggestions in the forum here, I have been studying the die making process and learning more about doubling. And then I found a 1982P quarter - true master hub doubling. My first older coin error. Found a bunch on the new state quarters and National Parks quarters.

"Found a bunch on the new state quarters and National Parks quarters."

If you have found a bunch there is a good chance you are finding machine doubling. ;)

  • thanks ifthevamzarockin, I should have been more specific. I found a few of the AZ cactus errors covering initials, a couple of slightly offset new quarters, a cud on the bird head on Bombay Hook, a few grease die errors, and yes, about 5 coins with doubling that is most likely machine doubling. Am learning alot in this forum. Thank you.

This is the 1976-D FS-101. I found it a couple years ago while roll hunting. It's my second one. Yes, they're out there!
