It was hard to watch a legend like Holyfield get humiliated like that, Oscar De La Hoya was originally supposed to fight that guy but he got covid, so Holyfield stepped in and took De La Hoya's place. It was a disgusting thing to watch, Holyfield is 58 years old, they shouldn't have allowed him in that ring, the whole thing has turned into a big circus. I guarantee if those two fought in their prime, Holyfield would have picked Vitor Belfort apart.
I mean, Holyfield is basically 60 years old, are you kidding me? They shouldn't have allowed this fight to happen.
The long and storied history of the sweet science is littered with sad tales of men taking fights they shouldn't.
100% agreed. As you age you lose so much regardless of how you look. It’s one thing to be Tom Brady and throw footballs better than a 20 something year old but combat is an entirely different animal.
I go to the gym nearly every day and I look with jealous eyes at the younger guys doing what I used to do. Getting older is what it is, you got to realize your limitations
At 2:30 that ref told Holyfield “I have a better chance of winning this fight than you do.” That swing & a miss nose dive through the ropes is gonna live on through GIF history.

can boxing be "sullied" ? boxing has been trash for conservatively 25 years maybe 40 ?
Holyfield is old but vitor will be wallowing around fighting some disney kid 20 years from now too.
Do the checks clear?
I understand athletes wanting to continue fighting for the glory and/or the money, but it does make me a little sad when I see people, who once entertained me greatly, embarrass themselves.
