Refractor? What do you think?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/403083518861

I bought this card a few days ago because it looks like a refractor to me, even though it's not listed as a refractor. It just looks like it has that rainbow shine to it, plus refractors from 1994 did not have any kind of designation on the card noting that it's a refractor. I paid $6 + shipping, which is about 6X the value of a base card if I'm wrong, but a refractor can be worth $50 - $100. It's a zero feedback seller which I usually avoid, but the card has already been shipped and it's estimated to arrive Thursday.

  • Just make sure at that price...... It doesn't come in an envelope 📨. That's where they get you sometimes. If it's cardboarded securely... You should not have a problem. Always check the surface!!!! 👍

I’m no expert but it doesn’t look like a base card to me.

I'm going to be the contrarian and say that it sitesnot a refractor, and besides that, it appears to have the weird discoloration splotches that often occurs on a large number of finest cards. Look at Pedro's pants. The sun appears to be shining in places "the sun don't shine"!

Looks like a refractor to me, congrats!

I scored this a few months ago. Seller ended up listing 3 or 4 of them, but I nabbed the only one that was a refractor. This one even says "Refractor" on the back, so I was shocked they didn't notice.

Should arrive tomorrow or Friday. Can't wait to see if I was right. Apparently some collectors have a hard time spotting refractors - I've heard even lifelong collectors say that. Refractors have always stood right out to me.

When I first put this card on my Ebay watch list, it had 15 days to go, meaning it had already been listed for 15 days.

I've had really good luck with early Pedro refractors recently. I bought a 1996 Topps Chrome Refractor raw on Ebay, and it scored a Gem Mint 10 from SGC. It's the only gem that exists from a major grader, as neither PSA nor BGS have ever given one a gem grade.

Got it today and it's a refractor! Nicely centered, surface looks clean, no visible scratches. Only issue I see with the card is the small spot along the bottom border, which I already knew about. The seller contacted me after I paid with a photo of the bottom border to see if I still wanted it - I told him yes. The spot appears to be a print defect as opposed to damage that occurred after because the surface is smooth all around it.
