Let's enjoy the pinnacle of the engraving art, shall we? The crudeness is so refined and artistic it's like a musical fart. It's designed with the acid-dated filler collector in mind. This highly collectible work of art is available for only $1200.00 at Etsy.
Although the date is absent (the digits 17 are faintly visible), LIBERTY is complete, and the head and all-important strawberry leaves are outlined. Both sides exhibit slight roughness, faint hairlines, and a small rim bruise, all acquired during its 50 years in circulation

I realize many if not most here are huge fans of buffalo nickels including myself when I was a preteen, but as I've grown up I've come to find them ugly compared to most other US coins and particularly coins of that era. They're so grotesque I'll bet it took some effort to convince people that these were actual legal tender when they were introduced.
Anyway, that's my honest opinion and it's been funny to read the reactions here.
I had never considered the slaughter aspect w/respect to the nickel. Interesting observation.
The design of the nickel to me is beautiful and remains so.
It is valuable to hear a contrary view on any subject or issue that enjoys widespread respect/admiration/acceptance.
O.k., it's an historic coin and would be a center piece of many collections be the obverse is a scene from ghost busters .
The longer I live the more convincing proofs I see of this truth, that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice is it possible for an empire to rise without His aid? Benjamin Franklin

I'll begin with the 1979 SBA Dollar. It didn't even have the decency to be 38.50 millimeters, was confused with the quarter dollar, a design only SBA's Mother could love, Ike Dollar reverse rip-off, series only lasted 3 (+1) years, and just before the Sacagawea Dollar debut it appears again, begging, saying , hey, remember me?
19 to go.
What say you?
:-)
And the mint doubled down in SOP government procedure in trying the same catastrophe again in 1999 in making more of these unloved, unwanted slugs. FUBAR on steroids!
These two recents seem to fit the bill for worse looking. Bug Eyes & Player One. I know art is in the eye of the beholder, but something seems out of balance on this Liberty and the Innovation Dollar looks like a poorly designed token. I hope when this thread is over, we can see the top twenty winners, er the bottom twenty losers!!

When will you guys get tired of the same old thing with a new edition. Truly sexist.
Everyone is still way too nice. This is the "Worstest Individual US Coins" not worst coin types with high grade specimens.
Here's an individual coin. Of course this may be too easy. It might be more interesting to find the "Worstest Individual US Coins with TrueViews".

Yup, I'm a real knuckle-dragger.

Here's a candidate. It's also a Top Pop.
But mainly another word ending in "ist"
Only for the newest edition to "their' trio.
I think their posts should be flagged.
This same stuff (except the gold coin) about prominent women has been going on for far too long on coin forums.
It's gets really old. Same old stuff. Over and over again. We all "know" what they are doing.

Can't wait for someone to offer a "woke" opinion on the Chain cent. . .
