What are the odds? How did this happen?

I recently bought a large collection. I came across a box of about 600+ 1970 Topps commons on lower grade. I grabbed them today and started putting them in order.
For those that have put vintage sets and partial sets in order you know what to except....a ton of duplicates.
This is the first time this has ever happened.... There was not a single duplicate in the entire box.... Not one! How did that happen? Keep in mind.... They were not in order. If they were in order I could understand how there would be no duplicates. That would mean that someone was putting a set together.
Nobody else may think this is strange, but I think it is very odd.
Here they are after I put them in order.

It was a cherry picked set that was used for a game of 600 card pickup!
So, had to chime in…interestingly I have a large lot of about 1500 1970 topps from vending with many duplicates. I had originally sorted them by player when I bought them many years ago. Recently, I had decided to put together a lot of them for sale and decided to see how many duplicate free cards I could pull from them. I ended up with a big box like you bought, not sorted but with no duplicates. So, it happens lol
