There are no Leaning Liberties in the Red Book.

There are no Leaning Liberties in the Red Book. If you spent one hundred thousand dollars on a two-hundred-year-old painting and it arrived crooked in the frame with a me-too sticker blindly applied, what would you do? Would you tilt your head and say, "... I know, but look at the pretty colors." My opinion is this: The engraver's original design should be honored by positioning the coin ... or photographing the coin ... enjoying the coin ... with the date at the bottom. The Leaning Liberty trend can most often be found among the Flowing Hair Type coins as well as Draped Bust Type. I have even seen the Leaning Liberty thing on Morgan Dollars and Indian Cents. Let me share some examples from today's Regency Auction 47.
Notice the Leaning Liberty with the date at seven o'clock instead of 6 o'clock.
Here is another example from the auction. I contend that this is not sloppy randomness at work.
I have no beef with the True View Department. This is what I mean by honoring the intent of the engraver.
And finally, I will share an example from my own collection. I absolutely love this coin!
Said the guy with the sticker, "Oh crap. Maybe no one will notice. Or care."
So what do you think? Is the Leaning Liberty trend really a thing? Does it bother you as it does me? Maybe you like the trend. #AestheticsMatter
