Will Mike Trout play again this season?

craig44craig44 Posts: 11,206 ✭✭✭✭✭

Maddon stated yesterday that shutting down Trout is a possibility at this point. here we are in September. If he did a week or so rehab assignment in the minors that would put him returning for the last couple of weeks of the season. Will the Angels just shut him down? Either way, another prime Trout season is down the drain.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

If he's healthy, he should play. The fans deserve to see him on the field and he's getting paid.

i agree. If he is healthy, he should be on the field.

I think there was something "fishy" going on with the injury. it happened back in May and was i believe called a strain. estimated to return in 6-8 weeks. we are at about 2x that time frame. I am thinking it was a significantly worse injury than a strain...

    Byron Buxton is playing now!

Will he make it the rest of the year without getting hurt again?

    50/50 at best.

or no injury at all? i think he was pretty adamant about not playing under covid talks last year. when it eased up and seemed under control he was playing. now that its spiking again, hes injured. rendon the same way. both of these guys realize life and family is a tad bit more important than records and baseball. i cant disagree w them on that.

  • My Guess is no. ..... Because he's too rich to even care

just saw a new update. No timetable for Trouts return, per Maddon.

we are at Sept. 8. 3 1/2 weeks left to the season.

I am going to call it now, Trout will not be playing again until march of 2022.

When you say "under covid talks", what are you referring to?

Saw an interview with him a week or so ago and he stated "scar tissue" in his calf was slow to break down for him to have normal flexibility. When asked if he would be back this year he sure wasn't convincing when he said Yes
