Another fake Mantle Rookie I presume

Does anyone know who this guy leesbestprices is in New York - maybe I can turn him in to the police if he is selling a fake mantle or reprint Mantle rookie

See item 1840857911 on ebay

Collector of baseball PSA sets from the 1970's & hockey rookie cards; big New York Rangers fan (particularly now that they are sleeping with the enemy with Holik and Kaspiritus). Also starting to collect 53 Bowman Color as I think they are the most beautiful cards I have seen.

I am not a 52 expert but that appears to be legit. He has his all of his contact info in the auction. And has a standing business. Mortar and brick. I would ask for a better pic , on any card over 100.00 I would ask. On that amount I would want a Very nice pic.

  • If it is in such good shape why doesn't he get it graded and reviewed for authenticity by a third party?

  • Are those creases in the back of the card?

  • Also this guy has Negative Feedback of 9 and 7 Neutrals with a feedback rating of only 74 ..Pretty suspect feedback for buying such a high $ value card ... I wouldn't touch this auction with a 10 foot pole...

Odds are the card has a nice wrinkle on the back, l/r, starting at "1950" and going right. Looks like it has a ding on the lower left, too.

Actually, I'll call them, since they have an 800 number. I'm on hold.

    I'm still on hold.

Okay, I'm not on hold. The card's in a safe. They are going to call me back and tell me what is going on.

I think it's real, and I think they don't know how to grade it.

I dont think it is wrinkled in the upper left back corner. I would ask for a scan instead of a digital camera picture. It appears to be real. They should have it graded then sell it. That would take the fear out of buying the card ...ok most of the fear. Trimmed ...fake.....altered etc..... And it would lock in a real value. This sell will never sell at this price. Not even half of a quarter of this price this is my opinion. Grade the card and it will sell at what it is worth. Surley the seller could pay for a walk thru and have back in his hands in a week.

Some People's biggest FEAR is sending a card worth 25 to 100K in the mail... to someone you do not know... and trusting them to Not damage, steal, "loose" or switch it...

You know that would not really happen &
I know that would not really happen, but
SOME PEOPLE are not willing to even discuss it!

Card looks OK to me. I do see two creases on the back, which means it would grade PSA 4 or less....pricing would be a more realistic $4000-5,000.

Their main business seems to be selling watches, jewelry, etc.....not PSA graded sportscards. Maybe it's a fake and they don't even know it. Go to a show, get this card graded, and get alot more potential bidders interested in it. I would stay away for now.

They haven't called me back yet. Maybe someone else can call and pester them.
