I noticed that after posting!🙄. I’ll have to take it back out and make sure it isn’t just a bad reflection from the penny sleeve. I’ve got about 500 of this series of card(1990 marvel impel) that haven’t seen daylight in 25-30years. They all look fantastic, but only about 15% or so seem centered.
I primarily submit the 1990 Marvel Universe cards and would agree with @JoeBanzai about the upper right corner also cant tell if that lower bottom right corner back view is a reflection issue as well
I use a loupe and would recommend you use one to scan the back edges of the cards to see if there is any "chipping". That 14.99 tool has probably saved me more times than I can count with cards I would have submitted and been disappointed when they were actually graded
Great looking card, Im fortunate to have a few 10s of those!
@jtomm2005 so how are you approaching the PSA shutdown? Are you just going to wait it out until they reopen and prices drop? Also, and I know this is a loaded question, assuming this card has good edges would it be the type you would submit? Looks and centering wise?
@Kevin17 Prior to the shutdown I had gone thru and did a pre screen of a couple hundred 1990 MU cards and was just beginning to start sending in on a regular basis. That was right before COVID shut down PSA in early Spring and I opted to the side of caution to continue sending anything more. I do have them and more ready and waiting to begin again but would like to see some track record on turnaround once some of this madness settles. I don't think Ill submit anything at the current open levels and "maybe" at the Regular level for the right cards
As far as from what I can see, this card you have shown would definitely get me to put it into the "PreScreen Submittal Bin" but would take a closer look to be sure. Centering from the photo looks to be very close within MINT - GEM Mint Threshold, not sure about 50:50 all the way around but its very damn close
9's seem to be going for about $100.00. I base my thinking on a 9 to decide if I want to grade.
It costs $200.00 to grade a card right now. Short answer is "no way".
If there's any wear/damage on any portion of that card, it is not worth grading!
Let's pretend it gets a 10 just for fun. Guessing it sells for $700.00-200 grading fee-$50 shipping/tax/-$175 ebay fees and taxes and you end up with $265.00.
Frankly, I wouldn't send it in until grading fees drop below $50.00, but it's your call.

And again, that card isn't a 10. It might be a 7. Most cards don't come out of the pack in 10 condition. If you have 500 cards and you scan them all very carefully, if you had 20 that were PSA 10 candidates, that would be awesome. Check your cards with a 10x loupe. To get a 10, you should basically see no faults under magnification.
Perfect centering on front. Back a tad off, but nice card with a ding. I'd say strong 7. And I say, And I say I'll be remised.... If the surface is good.
The way PSA is grading now, that ding on rt corner will knock it to a 6, but the other super qualities, (centering and color) should but it half a pt. So I'll say 6.5 with new tougher grading, 7.5 to 8 last years grading.

I'm starting to believe you're right on it. Yes, I think you're correct. A ding in one corner can drop a card 4 grades

Welcome to the boards!
AWESOME card! Upper right corner looks like it got "dinged", other than that eye appeal and centering look nearly perfect!

Good Luck with whatever you decide!
