The "Cleveland Guardians" already exist. Wouldn't the first thing you do with a new name is see if it already exists?

Oh Geez..... Won't end well for the roller derby team (well maybe, they'll get a heck of a payday) - Kinda like London devouring Bavaria (Mortal Engines).......

The team and trademark are abandoned. The baseball team will prevail.

there's a simple solution to all this ridiculous BS and the WASHINGTON REDSKINS stumbled onto it inadvertantly: every Team is simply listed as the City they represent(play in) and the Professional League they play in. that means the CLEVELAND INDIANS are listed as the Cleveland Baseball Team.

then the fans can call them whatever they want to call them. speaking only for myself, the WFT is still the Redskins and the CBT is still the Indians. this whole renaming/rebranding thing is just ridiculous and "The Guardians" is a stupid and irrelevant name.

I would agree. Should have been something like the Cleveland Cuyahogas or the Cleveland Rocks.

If they focused on the four guardians of traffic, that would have made sense, but then I am an art deco junkie.

That's too bad...I thought the idea was kinda clever (though it did make them sound like a team of GoBots)...this way they didn't have to change the whole name...just the first syllable! My idea was to go back to their old "Naps" nickname to match the era that their current caps most resemble.

As for The Artists Formerly Known as the Redskins...please please please in the name of all that is holy DON'T name yourselves the Generals...anything but the Generals... Shoot the Washington Generics would be far better!
