Good for you, casabrown, its nice to see someone disperse a world class collection on their own terms.
I will probably leave my goodies to kids that will probably dump it at the nearest pawn shop, and I dread that.
I would have been a fellow alum at Erasmus if my parents didn't escape to Hempstead in the late 60's.
Goodbye Rosie, queen of Corona
I appreciate your comments. My decision to off-load much of my modern business strike sets was driven by:
1. No kids to pass on the baton.
2. Takes up much more space in safe deposit boxes
3. Grade-inflation would require that I resubmit to maintain value
I have divided my sets between a trusted auction house, Great Collections, and a trusted dealer, Angel Dees for Jefferson and Buffalo nickels.
If you are going to the ANA, maybe we can chat.
All the best.
