FDC's Used or Unused

bammerbbbammerbb Posts: 162 ✭✭✭

This thought just crossed my mind tonight as I've been cataloging my stamps, FDC's, plate blocks etc. When we (my Mom and I were both collecting) were working before, we didn't have any FDC's. Tonight however, as I was ready to choose the grade, it hit me, the stamps are canceled, wouldn't they be used??? What's the consensus here?

    Yes, they are cancelled.

But an FDC is another category - I don't think you'd catalog them as used stamps.

They are FDCs, cacheted or uncacheted, addressed or unaddressed, and of course condition.

I consider stamps on first day covers to be used. It is just another form of cancellation.

    All glory is fleeting.
