1791 8R Chopmarks??

Was it common place to mark these or were these marks added in more modern times?

Many 8 reales were sent to China at the time they were minted, so are often found with chopmarks.

Common for many pillar 8 reales (except of course the usual suspects 1732 & 1733). Especially the Portrait type but someone could always land a rare variations that ends up even been rarer with chopmarks.

As for the Cap & Rays I believe most 8 reales went to China from I think 1877 to early 1890's. But again there are some very rare combos. Maybe I am wrong if so please correct me.

Maybe some mint locations more than others?

Yours has a look of a counterfeit. What's the weight?
