I took a gamble because they accept free returns
And the potential reward was worth the risk from bad ebay photos. Neon Jefferson and Neon quarter, can't tell if the dime is nice or not.

If I recall correctly, these type of wall hangings typically had polished coins in them and the sulphur based compounds would make the coins quite colorful over time.

I disagree with calling this a gamble if you are just going to return it if it's "bad". It would be a gamble if you are keeping it regardless.
They could be nice, or they could be polished and toned turds. The Franklin looks promising.

that has been predominately my experience as well.
To that end, I disagree with planning to return it. You’re looking at bad photos which allow you to assume the coin could be bad. Unless the coin is grossly misrepresented (hard to do with junky photos), then I’m no fan of this attitude. Yes you can do it, but it doesn’t sit well with me.
I would weigh in but I am muted. Heather does not even have the courtesy to respond.
All are polished except the dime which is pleasantly toned. My daughters like them so I broke it apart for them. My oldest took the silver granules for her rock collection. I'll take the time for an album. The rest will go in flips.
Cool set!
I agree with Airplanenut above: it's not a "gamble" if there is no risk involved.
Looks like you scored an attractive set.
What does the reverse of these coins look like?

All blast white minus some tape residue which should be easy to remove. I'll try acetone then goo gone if that doesn't work. Maybe xylene since they seem to have that at the farm stores.
Your Franklin would have been a monster if it had GEM lustrous surfaces.

Silver Certificate dollar too.
Thanks for sharing. Sometimes you just gotta roll the dice!

Have you removed any coins frommthe frame?
Ive seen these sets in many cases the reverses are completely black !
I personally wouldn't take the gamble for that reason.
Those displays were made cheaply, and the out gassing of the paper and wood will cause the reverses to turn black!

The reverses are all white due to being taped down. Once the residue is removed I'll attempt to take better images
