Israel 1968 10 Lirot with Temple facade as appeared on Bar Kochba silver tetradrachm

Second Jewish Revolt against Romans 132-135 CE includes a wonderful series of various designs in bronze and silver ancient coins struck under Simon Bar Kochba's leadership until he was killed at Beitar massacre in 135CE at the time of Emperor Hadrian. ~2000 years later, the State of Israel issued a marvelous silver and gold commemorative coin in 1968, just one year after the Six Day War when Jerusalem was reunified. The silver coin is more attractive than the gold. It's a hefty, concave planchet, with great designs: The temple facade on obverse, and panaroma of Jerusalem on reverse. This one is delicately toned, and top pop PR68, mintage of 20,494.

I would like to own one from the First Jewish Revolt but I don't buy coins in the price range for the quality I will accept.
I have found electrotypes to be a good alternative. They have the identical appearance, are collected in their own right, and are available at a fraction of the cost. Here's an example of year 4 First Revolt Shekel. Looks like the real thing!
Bot this one recently

Absolutely
I often wonder why it is that the population doesn't have a keen interest in their own coinage
I've always liked the silver Israeli coins from the 1960's and 1970's, with their bold, modernistic designs on concave planchets. The luster is usually outstanding, and the mintages are fairly low. Strangely, they don't seem to enjoy the popularity they once had. Here are my favorites. The coins are encapsulated in Kointains, which made them tricky to photograph.
First, the 1963 Seafaring

The 1967 Eilat, my personal favorite. I have several of these; all have booming white luster, except this one.

Here's a 1968 Jerusalem proof, similar to the OP's coin

Another one that I like

Really nice coins!
Just got this back from grading
And these...

It's a pretty neat design of Tower of Babel. Not sure I understand why they would chose to commemorate this biblical era event of a generation's defiance and war against God.
Here are a couple more...
Here's a bronze Bar Kochba, not quite as expensive as the silver...
Bar Kochba Revolt Small Bronze, 132-3

17.5mm, 5.9g. Grape bunch on tendril, שנת אחת לגאלת ישראל, year one of the redemption of Israel. 7-branched palm tree with two bunches of dates, כ ה זנ רה א לע, ELAZAR HaKOHEN (Eleazar the Priest) (Hendin 1380). Probably struck over a Roman coin.
This is a coin of Hadrian, perhaps celebrating victory over the rebels:
Hadrian Denarius, 136

Rome. Silver, 3.1g. HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P. VICTORIA AVG (RIC 2239). Nemesis-Victory represents victory as divine vengeance for excess, a warning to rebels. She spits on her chest to avert evil influences, and encourage self-restraint in victory. Go too far and Nemesis could bring you loss and suffering as retribution.
