I'd suggest a bank since it's worth one cent
If it's bronze, I think it's worth a lot more than one cent. There aren't very many out there.

What does that make, 8 different varieties?
It weighs 3.11 grams
Thanks for the humor airplane but! Oh yeah, get a better pair of 🤓
I know the difference!
There are 9 different varieties
If you want full value you will need to send it in to be verified by NGC, ANACS, or PCGS.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
We can see a small date and a large date.
We can’t see weight.
I concur that it would need to be certified by pcgs, ngc, or anacs
I weighed the coin on a welch triple beam scale. I sincerely wish to thank everyone for their informative responses. I believe I will take a little time to sorry about the pun, weigh my options.
I also would like to ask if anyone is familiar with how this coin I'm about to share could happen please?
Also the word liberty is missing part of the lettering as well.
And the rty appear to be doubled as well.
i'd say a picture with it on a scale would go MILES! towards a possible sale.

I understand, I'm going to go buy a digital scale this week. I'm using a welch triple beam and trying to take a photo of it is difficult. Thank you again.
Uhhh... that ain't 3.11g, nor even 3.0g, and as shown, the selected weight is slightly high.
And the beam is below the neutral line.
If that counterweight was walked back it would be closer to 2.5
Also the scale would need to be zeroed out before each use
Filled die
And the ghosting is not a doubled die
The coin wasn't on when I took that photo, it was to show the scale ⚖️ I have been utilizing?? If I had the coin on there, it can't be seen when I weigh it. And I'm very careful to zero it out after every weigh.
Nice gram scales on Amazon for $11.97 plus tax
In all honesty, it looks zinc.
I get this all the time in the shop, people send pics of the 82-d small date, tell me that its 3.1 grams, I get them to bring it in, and blam, 2.5 on my scale. Most just have a dumfounded look after that.
One guy for christ sake said he had 5 of them. A coin with only 2-3 know so far, and this guy has 5 "come on man"
I wish to thank you all for your knowledge and thoughts. Have a great evening.
This is the coin and the weighing
So I'm just going to keep the coin protected
I'm putting it away to keep in my collection. Thank you all for the information.
And yes, I do know how to use a triple beam for those skeptics who try to make me appear illiterate!!
So then wouldn't you know to move the counterweight way to the left so the scale is actually balanced, rather than having it point to the weight you want while simultaneously indicating that said weight is too high?
For God Almighty move to the coin forum---- moderator, if there is one. Op keeps bumping his own thread.
The balance is correct. The coin is on the platform and all is in correct position. Thank you for your feedback.

Thank you all for your help and criticism. I'm a Vietnam veteran recently retired and thought I might try collecting coins until I joined this forum. I have freely admitted I'm a novice. Some here are very kind and helpful and I thank you. Others I would not care to consult or associate with. I was wounded in service so all can be free to express themselves. I said once here I was leaving and did, but came back hoping to learn more. This time it's just as bad as the first. I wish all of you good fortune and prosperity. I will darken your forum never again! Goodbye, good luck, and be well, Matthew
if the path you are traversing with us is too exhausting and you have some extra money, just send it to pcgs and be done with it.
i see people take days, weeks, months and yes even years to accomplish such simple tasks. i've done this dozens upon dozens of times and few things in life are as valuable as peace of mind. ie: answers.
take my advice above in this post and update us with the results 30, 60, perhaps 90 days down the road.
one tip, find 3-5 coins to send off if you can to help average out the costs but don't wait to long. if you are going for $5-20k scores, whats a $2-300 dollars? make SURE you insure your item for the value you think it may be and find a way to be able to prove it in case something happens to your package. on the way back from pcgs, also declare your estimated value.
the advice about getting a different scale for this type of endeavor is as simple as it is effective and will allow much more efficiency, unless you like doing things the hard way.
be well and look forward to your future posts.

Thank you for your wisdom and guidance. I really do appreciate it.
I'd like that scale for weighing my letters. They used to use those at the post office.
LOL, sorry, it's not available! I am old school and enjoy using it. Thanks.
Wish you luck on the 82-D but wouldn't it have been easier just to show the coin on a digital gram scale than all the beam scale pictures and the leaving the forum stuff again?

Yes, you are right. Have a great day.
Great for mixing ink, if your a rookie. Old School- "We don't need no stinking...scale"
Metalic Zinc !
Rock on !
Did that coin ever get submitted ? If authentic and certified, it would likely make mainstream numismatic news. I haven't heard word for a couple years. Anybody else ? That would be a rare find.
i use a labratory digital scale with 4 decimal points and its way too touchy
