COIN OF THE DAY (7/7/02); 1938(s) MERCURY DIME (PCGS-MS67).
I have a 1938(s) Mercury Dime grading PCGS-MS67 that is BLAST WHITE and 99++% FB!! With my 10x at one very small spot you can see a tiny trace of merger (which looks like it might go away if you turn the coin just right). I have no doubt that coins with THIS MUCH band strength have made it into FB holders - it is so, so close!! The coin is a fabulous example of a 1938(s) Mercury in PCGS-MS67 grade. I will sell it for $225 as the special COTD and offer a no questions asked return privilege (but please don't buy this coin expecting a "LOCK" 67FB coin as it is not a LOCK).
