A little help identifying a medal please -

I picked this up at a pawn shop today because I got it for less than silver value, however I can't find any information about it. If you're familiar with this piece please educate me -

Exactly correct - note the 1982 date by the Roman numeral date. One of many modern German commemoratives of that period issued in "strictly limited numbered quantities" (think Franklin Mint influence -- but at least this piece is pure silver and not FM sterling). The price was right (to coin a phrase).
That is a medallion that incorporates the bulk of the design of a commemorative taler (Geschichtstaler or Gedenktaler) that was issued in 1828 by the Kingdom of Bavaria (before the unification of Germany). The nominal denomination of the original is 10 Marks. Original specimens are fairly easy to obtain.
RMR: 'Wer, wenn ich schriee, hörte mich denn aus der Engel Ordnungen?'
CJ: 'No one!' [Ain't no angels in the coin biz]
Thanks everyone for your input -
