4 Reales for Real

One of my side collections consist of lower quality 4 reales. Recently acquired are these two. The Philip V is about 12.85 grams, probably due to wear.
Carlos IV weighs in at about 13.25 grams.

A couple different types of 4’s

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.

Peninsular milled shield 4R are typically farily available from the Spain auction houses, but tough to find here stateside. Not nearly as many found their way here as the milled shield "pistareen" 2R.

All nice pieces. The Mex cob looks to perhaps be assayer L from that letter and overall early Philip V style. Reverse pic?
