47 - Aron Baynes, who played for the Celtics at one point and was the topic of the most hilarious WTF commentary from Tommy Heinsohn who said this live during a game...really. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JTgQAail6HM
You are correct, in my defense I’ve been looking thru waaaaay too many jersey numbers lately lol. Andrei who is Russian had one of the best nicknames ever...AK47
51 maybe Reggie King by default. He had a good year in Kansas City. That's where I remember him from
52 Jamaal Wilkes averaged 18 points and 6 boards a game and 4 titles
53 Artis Gilmore. The man
I'll leave some low hanging fruit for the next several picks

54 - Horace Grant seems to the best of the lot. There was also Robert “Tractor” Traylor who was the other guy in what was possibly one of the worst trades in NBA history when Dirk got picked by the Bucks then traded to the Mavs on draft night. That trade also greatly benefited Boston where Tractor was a surprise pick it helped drop Paul Pierce to the C’s.
56 - has just three players to ever wear that number:
Francisco Elson
Sean Williams
Brandon Hunter
The last two are former Celtics who only played one season but it has to be Francisco with his 472 games played, 3.7ppg and 3.5rpg.
Great thread! I disagree with a few of the earlier choices, but I respect the names! The next number that comes to mind was a decent player, but certainly not "Superstar" level is Shawn Bradley #76, which I basically remember because the number matched the team name when he came into the league! I'm sure that someone will chime in if 61-75 can be represented!

23 - there was a lot of g.o.a.t. competition for 23 but I went with the obvious pick...JR Smith
All kidding aside you could put together a solid roster just using 23:
Michael Jordan
Lebron James
Anthony Davis
Draymond Green
Mitch Richmond
Blake Griffin
Lou Williams
Calvin Murphy
Jimmy Butler

32 - is another number that could field its own all star roster. I gave Magic the nod over Shaq.
Magic Johnson
Shaquille O’Neal
Karl Malone
Julius Erving
Kevin Mchale
Billy Cunningham
Blake Griffin
Richard Hamilton
Joe Smith
Karl Anthony Towns
Bill Walton
And of course the one time Air to the throne...Harold Miner

0 - Jayson Tatum will soon pass Westbrook when he leads Boston to a championship
5 - Kevin Garnett
6 - Bill Russell
7- Pete Marivich
8 - Kobe Bryant
Gotta go with Mantle at 7, no matter the sport And, I did all my graduate work at LSU!!!!!! LOL
I'm giving Durant a honorary slot with number 7 after watching him in the Olympics. Best player in the world at this time and arguably the past 10 years.
2012 Gold medal game in London. 30 points
2016 Gold medal game in Rio 30 points
2020 Gold medal game in Rio 29 points.
Of all the great players during this time Durant is the one who they look for to take over the game in crunch time. All time leading scorer in the Olympics and it's not particularly close. He's a natural treasure

37 - only seven players have worn #37 in history, I’d have to give it to Ron Artest aka Metta World Peace

38 - now we’re getting into the hardly used numbers, 38 had just 10 players all time and Kwame Brown, really, had the best stats with 6ppg & 5rpg.
39 - Dwight Howard (39 had just 6 players ever wear it)
40 - gave it to Shawn Kemp over Glenn Robinson
41 - Dirk Nowitzki
42 - James Worthy
43 - Pascal Siakham over Brad Daugherty

Tommy Heinsohn (RIP) Such a great Celtics homer.
Wow, Baynes does not have good numbers.
But compared to these guys he’s practically a HOFer lol.

48 Nazr Mohammed
49 Shandon Anderson
50 David Robinson

I feel like this thread needs some momentum. I've looked at 51 and I am just unsure. Anyone?

Apparently numbers 58 & 59 have never been worn before.
60 - with just three players listed below my 12yr old self gave the nod to Dick Wehr on his name alone.

Petit in a landslide.
Don't forget Wayman Tisdale!
I associate Erving with the number 6. Just me?
