    Awesome and exciting.

I'd grade those cards GOOD because of the rounded corners.

Just kidding - very nice hand. 👍

The type of hand where you hope another player has an Ace high flush, thinking it's the nuts. Based on the size of the pot, that may have happened. Perhaps at the very least, another player(s) had a lesser flush, straight, or set.

Actually, I overplayed the hand. Two other players, and I went all in with about $17K. I should have just bet $5k. They thought about it but both folded.
    Exciting to see that queen!!!

Well it depends on the size of the pot. The odds of hitting a flush in that situation on the river is around 20%. But you had a straight flush draw and nut straight draw as well. Even if a K hits, you have a decent kicker with the J which might be the best hand unless someone has pocket J,Q.

Without the Qd, if the 3d or 7d hits on the river, then you would have a boat to worry about. If the board doesn't pair, and the river is any diamond except the ace or queen, then all you have to worry about is a possible ace nut flush.

So overall you certainly had a lot of good equity in that hand going to the river. If you think you overplayed it, it certainly wasn't badly. But the beautiful Qd hit for ya, and that's the bottom line. :)

Who takes pictures of their winning hand? Isn't that like counting your winnings before the games are over??

Maybe they were mad at MCMLVTopps for winning all their chips, and so they threw their drinks at him?

A few years ago I was in Carson City. While at my hotel's casino I played video poker (draw poker)

I was playing with dimes. Should have played with dollars.

My first 5 cards included the 10, jack, king and ace of spades. I held those cards and drew 1 card.

The card I drew was the queen of spades. Gave me a royal straight.

My dime bet won me $400.00. Had I bet a dollar I would have won $4,000.00.

    Sweet.

But if you would have bet the dollar, the payout algorithm may have changed, perhaps definitely would have changed, and you may have won nothing.

Foxwoods Casino circa 1995. I’m playing Caribbean Poker and I missed a Royal Straight Flush by 1 card. Jack ♠️ and the guy next to me got that card, he showed me after the hand was over. Had I gotten that Jack I would have hit for almost $400K

    Wow!

Paul may have then gone on a sports card buying spree, the likes of which had never been seen before. :)

A few years ago after a Bad Company concert in Durant , Oklahoma. Stuck a $20 in and on the third hand paid for the whole trip and about $700 to take home.

    Nice hit.

I love it when the casinos lose. Which of course isn't often.

Best part? Took about 20 minutes to get the cash. By then Maria was tired and we retired to the room and left the next morning. The casino never saw another dime!

My best casino win at holdem was winning the bad beat.
I was holding pocket eights. The board after the river had three aces.
Another player led out after flop, turn and river and I called all of his bets.
He turned over pocket kings, I turned over my pocket eights and everyone started
whooping and yelling. I had just won $12,500, the funny thing was aces over eights
was the minimum hand you had to have for the bad beat.
And I got lucky as the bad beat fund was fully loaded, 12.5 K was the max win
but you could win a lot less if it hadn't had time to fully load.

Good thing then you didn't have pocket sevens. 😉

I’ve never had a huge hit in betting. My bigger hits have come in stocks. I’ve been the slow, steady guy most of my life, and I prefer stocks with dividends over gambling. The gambling action is actually more against you than stocks, if you play the good American companies and are patient. Gamblers like the quick hit, as do day traders. Swing trading is a lot safer than gambling.

I would much rather wait for a nice 10-30 percent pullback in the market than go all in on a bet.

The best investment one can make is in their soul, their health, and their family. All other investments and bets should be considered gravy.
